Contemporary artists Tina Barney, Philip-Lorca diCorcia, Nan Goldin, Sally Mann, and Larry Sultan use their daily experiences as their inspiration and offer viewers a glimpse into their private realities.

THE EVENING ASSOCIATES is the young professional membership group of the Art Institute of Chicago. Evening Associates meet on a monthly basis at the museum or around the city. Member Rates and Benefits Join the Evening Associates (EA) by adding $30 for one person or $50 for two people (same household) to any level of an annual Art Institute membership. Art Institute members receive free admission to the museum, discounts to the gift shop and restaurant, newsletters, and more. As an EA member you will also receive the following benefits: Free admission to Art Escape, a cocktail reception and gallery viewing 6-7 times a year at the museum
(Cost is $10 for Art Institute members and $15 for the general public)

Contemporary artists Tina Barney, Philip-Lorca diCorcia, Nan Goldin, Sally Mann, and Larry Sultan use their own daily experiences as their inspiration and offer viewers a glimpse into their private realities. Just as no two people keep the same diary, each of these five photographers has created highly personal, shifting, and intriguing visions of his or her life. ----Exhibition curated by Katherine Bussard, Assistant Curator of Photography. Lecture by Nan Goldin - November 28 at 6:00 p.m. World AIDS Day Programming - Week of November 27
Dear Evening Associates and Friends, Tonight, November 28 (Tuesday), Nan Goldin will give a presentation at the Art Institute at 6:00 p.m. in Fullerton Hall. Nan is one of the photographers featured in So the Story Goes: Photographs by Tina Barney, Philip-Lorca diCorcia, Nan Goldin, Sally Mann, and Larry Sultan. There is no cost to attend tonight's lecture. In addition, the Art Institute of Chicago is collaborating with the AIDS Foundation of Chicago to commemorate 25 years of HIV/AIDS with a series of special programs inspired by some of the works in the exhibition So the Story Goes. This week the Art Institute will present a speaker whose life and work have been touched by HIV/AIDS. Programs are at noon in Morton Auditorium unless noted otherwise. On World AIDS Day, December 1, the Art Institute will present a panel discussion, film screenings, and a gallery talk. Programs are free with museum admission. Upcoming programs include: November 29: 20002005: An Era of Complacency Joann Montes, minister and activist, CALOR, Chicago November 30: 2006 and Beyond: The Future of HIV/AIDS Craig Bender, photographer December 1: Commemorating 25 Years of HIV/AIDS on World AIDS Day The week's speakers meet in a panel discussion in Price Auditorium.
