Comparative adjectives adjetivos comparativos

With long adjectives of two syllables or more we use more + adjective + than. E.g. Trains are more expensive than buses. With short adjectives (one syllable or two syllables ending in y) we add er. E.g. Brazil is bigger than Uruguay. Con adjetivos largos de dos silabas o ms usamos ms + adjetiv + que. Ejemplo: Los trenes son ms caros que los autobuses. Con adjetivos cortos ( una silaba o dos silabas que terminan en y) agregamos er. Ejemplo: Brasil es ms grande que Uruguay.

Spelling rules The spelling rules for short superlative adjectives are the same as for short comparative adjectives. Las reglas de ortografia para adjetivos superlativos son las mismas que para los adjetivos comparativos cortos.

We use as + adjective + as to say that things and people are similar or the same. E.g. Harry is as old as Dave.

Form emphasis, we can put just before as . As. E.g. Youre just as old as I am. We use not as + adjective + as to say that things and people are not the same, E.g. Her new boyfriends not as interesting as Gary. Usamos as + adjective + as para decir que las cosas o las personas son similares o son lo mismo. Ejemplo. Harry es tan viejo como Dave.
