Pattern of Final Examination Paper of Contributor Personality Development (CPD) Course [November 2012]
Subject code: 1990001

PART 1: What the final examination tests for


1.0 2.0 The final examination covers only Units 1-12 of the CPD Course. The examination is application oriented. It tests for application of the 12 Units of the course. These are defined as the key concepts for every Unit (given in the Text Books). 3.0 Thus a thorough appreciation of the key concepts of the CPD course and application of the concepts in their lives will enable students to do well in the examination. (Solving application examples from text book / is recommended)

PART 2: Pattern of the question paper


4.0 The examination paper will have ~30 questions across 4 sections. o Section A will have 1 scenario (2 scenarios for B.Pharma paper). Each scenario will have 4 related questions having 2 or 3 options. Based on the option chosen, the student will score 3, 2, or 1 mark. o Section B will have 10 questions with 2 given statements from which the student has to choose the statement closest to his/her thinking. If correct option is chosen, the student will get 2 marks; if not, then zero. o Section C will have 5 questions with each question having 4 statements. Student firstly has to rank these 4 statements in order of his/her preference & secondly, choose 1 out of the given 4 ranking options. If correct option is chosen, the student will get 2 marks; if not, then zero. o Section D will have 10 questions. For each question, the student has to choose 1 option out of 3 valid responses. Based on the option chosen, the student will score either 3 or 2 or 1 mark. o All questions are compulsory.

The examination is to be completed in 1 hours. Pattern of questions o o o All questions are in multiple choice format (MCQ). The questions are in the form of scenarios / situations giving options. The student is expected to choose one option out of the given options.

Total number of marks is 70 marks for Diploma, BE, and MCA students. The maximum marks per section is given below: o o o o Section A = 10 Section B = 20 Section C = 10 Section D = 30

For B.Pharma students, the total number of marks will be 80 marks. The maximum marks per section is given below: o o o o Section A = 20 Section B = 20 Section C = 10 Section D = 30 For Diploma and BE pass mark is 23 out of 70. For MCA pass mark is 50% i.e. 35 out of 70. For B.Pharma pass mark is 40% i.e. 32 out of 80.

Instructions: This section has a scenario. Read carefully before answering the subsequent questions. There are 4 questions in this section. All questions are compulsory. Each question has 3 or 2 options. Choose ONLY ONE option which you consider the most appropriate option. Read carefully before answering.

As a young girl, Mary Kom got interested in the sport of boxing. Her goal was to excel in the sport. She started training and participating in boxing sessions. When her father came to know, he tried to get her to give it up as it would spoil her looks, but she convinced him otherwise. When she got married, and later gave birth to twins, there was again pressure on her to retire from within the family and outside. But she refused to give in. Womens boxing was introduced in the London Olympics, but sadly Mary Kom's weight category was not included. She had to play in the 51 kg category, for which she had to put on weight as well as work very hard. She even practiced with male boxers to get better at the game. She succeeded in winning a bronze medal in the 2012 Olympics.
