SETTING This story is about 1954 and happened at Ireland when supper time in living room. The physical setting takes place when Patrick told Mary that he doesnt love her anymore and she hit Patricks head hardly using a leg of lamb.
PLOT Mary loves her husband so much, every single moment she thinking of the well being of her husband. One night, without any expectation Patrick say that he doesnt want to be with her. Marys heart was broken when she heard the news. She had done something out of her mind. Mary uses a leg of lamb and hit Patricks head hardly. With the strong hit, Patrick dies. After that she called the police and told them that Patrick is dead. The police think that the weapon that uses to kill Patrick is a metal thing. At the end, Mary asks the police to eat a leg of lamb, which is the criminal weapon. CHARACTERS Mary Maloney The main character, married to Patrick and pregnant housewife. She is perfect and diligent house wife she loves her husband and her unborn child so much. Patrick Maloney Marys husband and he is a ranking policeman. Patrick works very hard at his job, he fill exhausted and tired after finish his work. He has betrayed the love of Mary. Jack Noonan & OMalley They are detective and good friends of Patrick. There were being blinded by their trust and Mrs. Maloney innocent. THEMES AND VALUES The protagonists husband, Patrick Maloney abruptly tells his pregnant wife that he is leaving this unexplained marriage decision, which is underlying the importance of marriage vows. She richly thought of accomplice and convincing lies and fabrications to the detectives also constitute the theme of betrayal. Mary was out of mind and posses until her willing to kill beloved husband. Mary loves her husband so much As a responsible wife, Mary always fulfils all the need of her husband. Mary respect her husband even he is neglecting her presence, the respect shown even her husband being rude by she tolerate the situation. She understands every movement of her husband and re-acts accordingly.
