Management Lessons

1. Communication The art of communication forms one of the basic fundamental skills of an efficient manager. In my internship programme, I learnt how to communicate with the clients. I learnt that communication should be clear and unambiguous with the clients so that they can take the right decisions. During the internship, I found that a few of the clients were not able to communicate clearly their thoughts, so I have to interpret myself that what exactly the clients to say. Communication is one of the important skill which evry manager should have to response quickly. 2. Convincing power I learnt from my internship guide that he has a good convincing power and uses the same to convince his clients for the Funds he believes in. I also picked up the ability to convince the clients about the Funds which in my opinion were likely to give good results at the end of the day. 3. Deep Knowledge I learnt that one cannot sustain in the Mutual fund Industry unless and until manager has deep and complete knowledge of the funds in which he is dealing in. He must keep up-to-date records and must have all the answers of the clients questions. 4. Co-Ordination I learnt there must be a good co- ordination between you and your immediate senior. Any confusion or misunderstanding could occur at any time while doing the work. 5. Safety And Security The main aim of a Mutual fund is to provide safety and security to their clients. Clients usually are scared of the losses. Every time they want profits with less risk factor. People normally think

that MFs industry is the place for investment, where one can minimize their risk n maximize their return.

6. Quick Actions In MF industry some time the fund you r pushing to the client is not preferable for him as per his objective of investment, so you must be quick in recommending some good funds as per his need and wants. 7. Confidence: For influencing to the people about the MF you have to be confident enough so that they feel they are talking to write people about their investment. 8. Clarity of thoughts and firm decisions A team leader has to be very clear in his decision making ability. A manager or leader must be clear about his thought what he is conveying to the client or the investor so that it reduces the chance of misinterpretation. 9. Leadership In kotak mutual fund I got the opportunity to handle a team. I was the leader of that team and my job is to maintain the co-ordination in the team and handle the problem of the team. 10. Team Handling As I mentioned in above that I have got the opportunity to handle the team. 11. Punctuality In kotak there is a rule for the late peoples. If somebody came late they have to pay certain amount in the form of fine. So from kotak I have learnt that punctuality is very much important in corporate world.

12. Honesty I have learnt that you should be honest to the company as well as to your senior to maintain a trustworthy relationship between the employee and employer.

13. Timely service To delight and retained the clients with the company you have to give them a proper timely service and suggestion about the new scheme which will be beneficial for them. 14. Marketing During my internship my external guide assigned me some marketing work like selling of some mutual fund scheme like in the form of SIPs. I interacted and successfully converted them into our precious clients. 15. Target Achievement As I mentioned above that during my internship I sold some MF schemes. During my internship I also have target of 10 SIPs which I need to achieve to accomplish my project. With the help of my external guide and colleague in the office helps me in achieving those targets. 16. Client Focus Client relationship is the core of the business. We have to value each client, no matter what size, as a long-term relationship. 17. Working environment: One of the main objectives of any business organization is to provide smooth and healthy working environment for its employees so that the maximum output from the employees is achieved. During my internship programme, I observed that healthy working environment is created in the organization by the leader who is responsible for all the decisions to be taken for achieving the set goals. A good human relationship plays a key factor in this regard.

Understanding the difficulties being faced by a sub-ordinate in his assigned tasks and coming out with a suitable suggestion for the same creates a good working environment. I was lucky enough to work with my guide who guided me in such a manner I felt completely at an ease and I got easily going with all the other employees at my workplace.

18. Motivation During my internship when I was de motivate from not getting the result after doing hard work for pushing the MF schemes, my external and internal guide motivate me to start again with the new strategy and after getting some result I self motivated. 19. Inform to your superior During my internship training, one of the basic fundamental requirements of the management which I learnt is that always keeps your superior informed. Although, decentralization of the decision is recommended but once the decision is taken, its information to the superior should be ensured quickly and further instructions, consultations and guidance of the superior management has to be ensured. This will ensure the smooth co-ordination between the team members and coordination of the decision shall be ensured. 20. Maintain CRM (Customer relationship Management) In MF Industry, I learnt that to maintain the relationship with customers is very important. As customers/ clients are the main source for the corpus of the funds so CRM is important for the MF industry. 21. Investors are very much addicted to invest: During my internship when I was in operational department for some days I found that some people regularly invest in a particular fund as they are getting good return from a particular fund so they are addicted to invest. I was watching that same purchase orders comes in operational department from the same investor, such as liquid Plus funds.

22. Discipline During my internship we need to follow some discipline made by the companies as always be in formal never miss behave in the office.

23. Time management During my internship I learnt that time management is very much important to finish your task on time. Some times in kotak we need to give some presentation apart from our regular work so managing the time was really tough at that time but we learnt how to manage the time.

24. Maintain secrecy in organization, codes of ethics As we became the part of the organization so some data are shared among us which is supposed to be secrate and not supposed to go out of the office. We need to maintain that trust and ethics of the company.

25. Continuous Client follow up As delighting the investor is one thing but for delighting the client there is a need to follow up their issues and needs.

26. Learning from client Sometimes we met with some CEOs and DIRECTORs of the company when we went to meet the client for aware about some MF schemes related to Corporate we learn many important things from the client.

27. No work is small

During my internship I did some data entry work which doesnt mean that I have not learnt anything from that work, so no work is small.

28. Be calm During my internship, when u got trainees under me I need to be calm when they were doing some wrong otherwise the felt de motivate and they further ignor the task.

29. Never argue with your superiors Many times situations come where your superiors are not right yet they stick to their conclusions and try to prove you wrong. In this case instead of wasting time in argument you should do your task.

30. Maintaining professional relationship Professional relationships should be maintained with everybody from your boss to lower level manager.
