1. Introduction The Maintenance forecast option provides the ability to run forecasts for a wide range of options. Reports can be run using a range of built in Forecast Scenarios. Users can also create their own Scenarios and these can be saved for future use. From the Technical Records Menu select Forecasting.

2. Specific Instructions 2.1. The Forecast Criteria

Take time to become familiar with the Forecast Criteria but be aware that some options may not be applicable on your system configuration.
Parameter From: (date) Scenario used: Forecast To: Reg: Asset: Based At: Operator: Reliability Fleet: Outcome By default this is set on the current date but may be changed to last Journey Date, Look Ahead or Next Major MI. Please see below for more details on this parameter. Select a Scenario. Enter a maximum Date to Forecast Too. Depending on the Scenario selected, the user may need to open the Forecast To and select Clear to remove any date restrictions. Select a single Reg or leave blank for all. Select a single Asset or leave blank for all. Select a single Base or leave blank for all. By selecting an operator you can generate a forecast for a specific customer. By selecting this you can generate a forecast for a specific reliability fleet. If required the report can be restricted to a single MI by selecting the same MI in the From Item and the To Item. A Range may be selected by choosing a low MI and a higher MI. If blank then all MI's are included. as above. Select an Issuer or leave blank for all Select a Type or leave blank for all Select a single Asset Model or leave blank for all. Select a single Asset Type or leave blank for all.

Un-set items are Models that have not had a Maintenance Item associated to them. If ticked, forecast covers also the Assets which are not fitted to the Registration. If this option is selected, the forecast will forecast all repeat occurrences of any Maintenance Items that will fall due more than once within limitations selected, i.e. Date range, Hours, Cycles etc. If ticked, Forecast will show all Open Defects for this Reg. If ticked Shop Visit MIs will be shown on forecast If ticked only shop visit MIs will be shown If ticked only CMR MIs will be shown If ticked only out of phase items will be shown If ticked weapon MIs will be shown

Detailed Description of the From Parameter. From field: Look Ahead - this option allows the user to input their own values against all or any Life Code currently in use. The Forecast will be performed using the values set by user. Next Major Item - if this is selected the system looks for the next due Maintenance Item which is a Major Item (after clicking Refresh button). Then the Major MI values window for the next due Major MI pops up. This window shows the Life Codes and their values by which the Major MI should be carried out. In Look Ahead By column it is possible to set user's Life Codes values which are beyond the Major MI values. System will forecast and show all Maintenance Items which should be carried out in the time between Major MI and values set by user. The overdue MI's will be also displayed. This function is very useful when there is a Major Maintenance Item to carry out and some other "next due" smaller Maintenance Items as they may also be carried out at the same time. Today if this is selected, the forecast will be generated from today on. Last Journey if this is selected the forecast will be generated from the last Reg journey on.
