EXPERIMENT 2 a) Refer Table 2. Calculate all the capacitive reactance, X C for each frequency given and then complete Table 2. (Use C = 0.033uF) b) Based on your calculation in Table 3, plot the capacitive reactance, X C versus frequency in Graph 1. (Label all the axis and use maximum space in the graph)
XC = 1 2fC

PART B: EXPERIMENT 1
a) Connect the circuit in Fig. 3.1 on the breadboard. b) Set the DC power supply at 10V. By using multimeter, verify the terminal voltage produced by the power supply is 10V. c) Measure and record the parameters that required. d) Transfer all the recorded value in Table 2. e) Repeat step (b) to (d) for the circuit in Fig. 3.2.
~4~
EXPERIMENT 2 a) b) c) d) Setup circuit as shown in Fig. 3.3. Set V IN to 10V PP at 1 kHz sine wave. Attach CH1 oscilloscope to V IN and CH2 to R sense . Set the measurement at the oscilloscope screen to CH1 Pk-Pk and Frequency and also to CH2 Pk-Pk and Frequency Record the peak to peak value for CH2 which is voltage across R sense (V Rsense ) in Table 4. Increase the frequency step by step as in Table 4. Record the value for CH2 each time you increase the frequency. Make sure that V IN is maintaining at 10V PP each time you increase the frequency. From the value V Rsense that you have recorded, calculate Input Current, I in and then Reactance, X C . Complete Table 4. Based on your value in Table 4, plot reactance, X C versus frequency in Graph 2. (Label all the axis and use maximum space in the graph) Compare your theoretical results which are Table 2 and Graph 1 with your practical results which are Table 4 and Graph 2.
