VVT-i ENGINE (VARIABLE VALVE TIMING WITH INTELLIGENCE) Toyotas trademark technology forged and perfected through years of research and development. Automatically adjusts the intake valve timing for powerful acceleration, better fuel efficiency and cleaner emissions.

EPS (ELECTRIC POWER STEERING) Speed-sensitive power steering that feels light during low speeds, and gradually stiffens according to increasing vehicle speed for better stability. This technology also increases fuel economy, as power is only used to assist steering when necessary.

PEDESTRIAN INJURY REDUCTION PERFORMANCE The Vios also takes into consideration the safety of pedestrians. The front fender, cowl, panel and hood areas feature an impact absorbing structure that helps reduce injury to pedestrians in the unfortunate event of an accident.

SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER AND FORCE LIMITER (DRIVER AND PASSENGERS) At the onset of a collision, sensors will trigger the Pretensioner, tightening the seatbelt. When loads exceed a pre-determined level, the Force Limiter comes into play, relieving seatbelt pressure on the upper torso.

WIL (WHIPLASH INJURY LESSENING) FRONT SEATS Supports the head and neck in the event of a rear-end collision, and reduces the possibility of injuries to the neck.

ANTI-JAM PROTECTION WINDOW (DRIVER ONLY) Prevents injury to the driver when the window is being raised.

SRS AIRBAGS (DUAL FRONT, DRIVER AND PASSENGER) Inflates instantly to protect front occupants from head and torso injury in the event of frontal collision.
