Cognitive Objectives : at the end of the lesson,the students will be able to : 1.use the new vocabulary in sentences of their own;

2.skim to obtain a general impression of the text; 3.scan to locate specifically required information ; 4.introduce their own point of view regarding smuggling in Cornwall and smuggling today; 5.agree and disagree with arguments; 6.use digital instruments during the English class and in home projects; 7.select some pieces of information from the text and sum up events from 18th century England; 8. get a perspective upon the contemporary phenomenon of smuggling B. Affective Objectives :

Anticipated problems : Taking into consideration that some of the students have a poor level of knowledge and their motivation is rather limited, the teacher expects that her teaching skills might not be as valued as expected.
