QUICKSTARTGUIDE

ThisguidewillleadyouthroughtheprocessofinstallingandcommissioningyourNavgardBNWAS. Warning:AllinstallationsmustbedonewithMarineApprovedcablesandbyacertifiedElectricalEngineer. 1. BEFOREYOUSTARTUnpacksystem&allcomponents,checkingallitemsarecompleteaspertheenclosedpacking list. 2. THENAVGARDCONTROLPANELIdentifyalocationonthebridgeconsidereasyaccessforwiringandoperation 2.1 ForbulkheadmountingPlaceenclosureagainstbulkhead&markfourdrillingpositionsusingtheenclosureholesor themountingbrackets.Refertodrawingno001C1 2.1 ForconsolemountingRefertodrawing001D1forcorrectsizeofcutoutrequired.Fitthecollarsuppliedto Navgardcontrolpanelandsecuretoconsole. 2.3 Identifythenumberofcableentriesrequireddependingonthenumberandconfigurationoftheperipheralstobe installedandanyexternalsignalstobeused.Oneentryisrequiredforeachofthefollowing: 1x24VDCpowersupply 1xforstage3(CommunalArea)alarmloop

1xforeachpushbuttonresetloop(Internal&External) 1xforoutputtoVDR 1xforPIRResetloop(ifinstalled) 1xforeachstage2(Cabin)alarm 1xfortrackcontrolsignal 1xstandbypowersupply(24VDCifconnected)

2.4 KnockoutsarelocatedintheNavgardcontrolpanelbase.Openthecorrectnumberofknockoutsbyusingablunt punchandtappingwithahammeruntiltheypushthrough,andinstalltherequirednumberofM20glandssupplied (partnumber:101249) 2.5 MounttheNavgardcontrolpaneltotheidentifiedlocationusingthesuppliedbracketsandfittings. 3. MOUNTING RESET DEVICES In accordance with performance standards MSC.128 (75) & IEC 62616, motion sensors and reset buttons should be easily accessible from the conning position, the workstation for navigating and manoeuvring, the workstation for monitoring and the bridge wings. Visible alarms are to be visible from all operationalpositionsonthebridgewheretheOOWmayreasonablybeexpectedtobestationed. 3.1 InternalResetPushButtonmountusingthefixingssuppliedasperdrawing001H1 3.2 ExternalResetPushButtonsmountonthebridgewingsusingthefixingssuppliedasperdrawing001J1 3.3 DirectionalPIRMotionSensorstobesitedtogivefullcoverageofthebridgeareaswhichgiveproperlookout. Mountattherequiredlocationsusingthefixingssuppliedasperdrawing001E1.NOTE:If2ormorePIRmotion sensorsareinstalledtheyshouldnotbedirectlyfacingeachotherandshouldbepositionedatleast2mapart. 3.4 360PIRMotionSensorsshouldbemountedonthedeckheadabovetheconningpositionorascloseasispossible. Mountusingthefixingssuppliedasperdrawing001F1 4. MOUNTINGSTAGE2ANDSTAGE3ALARMSInaccordancewithperformancestandardsMSC.128(75)&IEC62616 remotealarmsaretosoundinthelocationsoftheMaster,Officersandfurthercrewmemberscapableoftaking correctiveaction.Stage2maycompriseofsoundersand/orsounderbeaconsanduptofouralarmsmaybe installedinsuitablecabins.Stage3maycompriseofsoundersand/orsounderbeaconssitedatthelocationof furthercrewmemberscapableoftakingcorrectiveactionse.g.MessRooms/ShipsOffice. Mountusingthefixingssuppliedaspertherelevantdevicedrawing:001L1(squaresounder),001M1(roundsounder), 001N1(sounderbeacon) 5. CABLEINSTALLATIONForallresetdevicesandaudible/visualalarms4core0.5mmscreenedmarineTypeApproved cableshouldbeused.Suitablysizedcrimpsshouldbeusedforallterminationsasperthelisteddrawings NoteAllcablescreensMUSTbeconnectedtotheearthstudprovidedwithintheNavgardcontrolpanel.For resetloopscontainingmorethan1resetdevicecablescreensmustbeconnectedtogetherusingasuitable method.

5.1 InternalResetPushButtonRuncablefromNavgardcontrolpaneltothefirstpushbuttonintheloop,andifmore thanonepushbuttonisinstalled,loopfromthistothenextandterminateasperdrawings001H1and001K1 NOTE:Endoflinediodesaresuppliedintheinstallationkit.TwoDIODESshouldbefittedasperdrawing001H1in thelastresetintheloop.Ifonlyoneresetisusedyoumuststillfitthediodesasperdrawing001H1

5.2 ExternalResetButtonsRuncablefromNavgardcontrolpaneltolocationofthepushbuttononthePortside bridgewing.RepeatthisfortheStarboardbridgewingandterminateasperdrawing001J1and001K1. 5.3 PIRMotionSensorsRuncablefromNavgardcontrolpaneltofirstPIRmotionsensorintheloop,ifmorethanone PIRmotionsensorisinstalledthenloopfromthisPIRmotionsensortothenextasperdrawingref001E1,001F1 and001G1 5.4 Stage2CabinSounder/BeaconRuncablefromNavgardcontrolpaneltolocationofthecabinsounder.Repeat thisforallcabinsbeinginstalled.Terminateaspercorrectdrawingforthedevice:001L1(SquareSounder),001M1 (RoundSounder),001N1(SounderBeacon). 5.5 Stage3Sounder/BeaconRuncablefromNavgardcontrolpaneltofirstsounder/beacon,ifmorethanone sounder/beaconisinstalledthenloopfromthefirstdevicetothenext.Terminateaspertherelevantdevice drawing:001L1(squaresounder),001M1(roundsounder),001N1(sounderbeacon) 5.6 PowerSupplyCablemustbe3core1.5mmscreenedmarineTypeApprovedcable. RunacablefromNavgardcontrolpaneltothelocationofships24Vdcsupply.Thisshouldbeviaanexternal2A fuseasperdrawing001P1 Connectthemainpowersupply(24Vdc)fromtheshipspowersupply.BUTDONOTAPPLYPOWER.Applyingpower atthistimewouldaffectthewarrantyoftheNavgard.

5.7 OptionalOutputs/Inputs: OutputtoVDR:IfrequiredrunacablefromNavgardcontrolpaneltolocationofVDR.Identifyandmarkeachcore forconnectionatalaterdate.Thecabletobeusedmustbe4core0.5mmscreenedmarineTypeApprovedcable. TrackControlSignal:IfrequiredrunacablefromNavgardcontrolpaneltothelocationoftrackcontrolsignal. Identifyandmarkeachcoreforconnection.Thecabletobeusedmustbe4core0.5mmscreenedmarineType Approvedcable. Installationofadditionalinputsandinterfacetoexternalequipmentcanbemadeifrequiredthisisanadditional extraandcanbeaddedbycontactingMartekMarine.

6. POWERCHECKS

6.1 ConnectthebatterytothePCBusingtheconnector shownintheoppositephotograph. CheckthatthebatteryLEDonthefrontofthecontrol panelisilluminated. 6.2 Applypowertothecontrolpanelasperdrawing001P1.CheckthatthebatteryLEDonthefrontofthecontrol panelisextinguished. 7. FINALSTEPSTOCOMPLETEINSTALLATION PleasefollowthebelowinstructionstocompletetheinstallationofyourNavgardBNWAS.Pleasebesuretofollowthis guidestepbysteptoavoidanyerrorsorfaultswiththesystem:
