Rev. Dr. Michael G. Braxton, Th.D.

Rev. Dr. Michael Gene Braxton founded, organized and has served, since 1998, as the Pastor of Bethel Community Baptist Church. Having responded to the call to ministry early on the morning of April 23, 1989 at 4:05 a.m., when God woke him up and he heard these spoken words come advocate, deliver the gospel to my people. God saw the best in him when everyone else around had only seen the worst in him. Being obedient to God he traveled for 9 years to Biblical Institutions to learn Gods Word for himself, so he could become a blessing to someone else by teaching and preaching sound doctrine. During this tenure he was blessed to travel to Israel. Yet, before he founded and organized Bethel Community, he was blessed to train and serve within the Pastoral ranks leading under Rev. McHenry; and later Pastored the St. Paul Baptist Church congregation in Denison, Texas. He is also known for his deep spiritual roots and strong public witnessing. He has been preaching sound doctrine and spreading the gospel for over 24 years and has spiritually led his present congregation for the past 15 years. Bethel Community members Thank God for giving them the best Pastor/Preacher on this side of the rapture. He is a leading light in his community.

Dr. Braxton - A Family Man:

He is married to Rosie Hogan Braxton, fathered three children and is Paw-Paw to 5 grandchildren.

Dr. Braxton - The Educated Man:

A high school graduate of Denison ISD, Gram Barber College, and Southern Bible Institute and holds a Th.D. (Theology Doctors Degree) in Biblical Studies.

Dr. Braxton - A Man of Wisdom:

A professor at J. Lee Foster School of Biblical Studies in Richardson, Texas where he taught Pastoral Administration. In 2010 founded the M.G. Braxton Christian Education of Biblical Studies in Denison, Tx. He is the owner and operator of Braxton Barber Shop in Denison for over 40 years; and currently serves as Zone 4 Chairman Leader of the Galilee Griggs Memorial District Association of Baptist Churches.

Dr. Braxton - A Man of Character and Courage

He is known for his teaching and preaching of Gods Word, whether he is at: Bethel Community Baptist Church, your church, Barber Shop, or wherever the opportunity presents itself to share Gods word. He loves the Lord and is no way ashamed to let you know. In his spare time you may find him swinging his golf clubs, on the Golf Course, on the church lawn, or the barber shop. His credentials are a long way from his humble begging at Tower Lane aka The projects in Denison. But, the late Mrs. Lillie Mae Wolford, his mother, set the tone for him . . . she said, Son aim high, theres plenty of room at the top. He is charitable, sympathetic, good -hearted, open-minded, and gentle. He does not let anyone encumber or suppress him and is not afraid

to step out on faith. His boundless energy in serving his community, teaching and preaching Gods Word speaks for itself.
