we became acquainted after our move to Uberlandia. It was a genuine pleasure to have them with us.
It was good to get back after an enjoyable and very refreshing furlough. While we did not particu larly catch up on any physical rest we feel so much better after a short break from the language and the struggles of proclaiming Christ in our fair city.

So we had a chilly wait in New York. However the 707 to Brasilia was lightly loaded allowing each one of us three full seats in

Wednesday morning, March 10, Charles Kent brought us the remaining 300 miles to our home in Uberlandia. We were again pleased to see that the woman we had hired to look after our home had done a perfect job. Everything was clean and awaiting our arrival.
Hejoice with us that God answers prayer. Give Him thanks for guiding us as He watches over all His

Tragedy has recently struck some of our missionary family as well as personal friends here in Uberlandia. Dale and Huey Mason were quite thrilled with the "birth of their third child and only boy a little over
a year ago. There were complications at the time of
Scot's
blood type.
And
at
that time Dale was workingip on the Amazon River west of Belem. However Scot arrived healthy and a blessing to his proud parents. April 22 Scot died after a week of intensive hospital care - encephalitis. He was buried in Belem where his parents continue to witness
to the love of our Lord and Savior.
The Norman Maddux family who lived and worked in Belem had to return to the States recently due to a

two hours from here. The old name of the city was Bag gage, but changed when the most famous of Brazilian
a diamond mining operation there. He was happy to see us and showed us tbe interesting operation which we
have shared in this issue.
Hopefully we watched the keen eyed miner search through the washed and sifted sand. Although diemonds had been found the two day& prior to our visit we did not have the pleasure of seeing one uncovered.

We are happy to report that final arrangements were completed and Sermons from Science, the series of thirteen films produced by the Moody Institute of Science, are currently being viewed on local TV sta
tion 8.
The final problem involved Moody*s requirements in regard to commercial advertising with the films. They wanted a written statement that no commercials featuring alcoholic beverages or tobacco would be
shown in connection with the films. The first reac

give a verbal agreement but that a written statement could not be given. Finally after communicating with Moody I approached the director one more time seeking the necessary statement. Thankfully he agreed to fur
