STRUCTURAL INSTRUCTIONS

Due to the modifications of architectural and electromechanical drawings to satisfy the owner and user requirements for the M.O.I. HOUSING to get the best use of the provided area for the building and so to modify the electromechanical systems to accommodate building location and to simplify the construction process, the structural drawings should be revised to match the modified architectural and electromechanical requirements, the following items show the criteria which should be followed up and applied to the prototype building;

1. For columns, shear walls & axes: a. Columns and shear walls setting out should be checked to match with the final architectural and electromechanical drawings. b. Local buckling of columns should be checked according to floors height as per final architectural and electromechanical drawings. 2. For Floors & Roofs ( Slabs and Beams) : a. Floors (Slabs and beams) block out and beams setting out should be checked to match with final architectural and electromechanical drawings. b. Roofs (Slabs and beams) block out and beams setting out should be checked to match with the final architectural drawings and electromechanical drawings. c. Slabs levels should be checked at different Floors and roofs to match with final architectural and electromechanical drawings and to meet their requirements considering any facilities or raised floors at data rooms, L.C. rooms . 3. For foundations, Ground beams & Slabs on grade: a. Ground beams & slabs on grade setting out should be checked to match with final architectural and electromechanical drawings of ground floor. b. Foundations should be checked to match with final columns setting out as per the final architectural and electromechanical drawings. c. Foundation levels indicated on drawings are only indicative. contractor shall check these levels and make sure that they are in conformance with the actual site conditions and its geotechnical report recommendations. He has to report his findings to the engineer. 4. Mosque & Minaret: a. Columns and shear walls setting out should be checked to match with the final architectural and electromechanical drawings. b. Ground beams & slabs on grade setting out should be checked to match with the final architectural and electromechanical drawings of ground floor.

c. Foundations should be checked to match with the final columns setting out as per the final architectural and electromechanical drawings. d. Roofs (Slabs and beams) block out and beams setting out should be checked to match with the final architectural and electromechanical drawings. e. Slab thickness, beams, columns, shear walls and foundations (cross section & reinforcement) should be checked according to final architectural and electromechanical drawings. 5. For all structural elements (Structural system): a. Seismic design for the prototype building is according to zones (0) & (1), for any change in the seismic zone, the contractor should redesign and resubmit the structural drawings based on the new zone considered. b. Slab thickness, beams, columns, shear walls and foundations (cross section & reinforcement) should be checked according to final architectural, electromechanical drawings, the actual site conditions and its geotechnical recommendations.

STRUCTURAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SITE ITEMS 1. Gates: a. Gate rooms setting out must be checked to match with final site layout and final architectural drawings, all levels stated inside structural drawings should be checked and coordinated with final site layout and general site grading considering all geotechnical report recommendations for the site. b. Columns and shear walls setting out should be checked to match with final architectural and electromechanical drawings. c. Local buckling of columns should be checked according to floors height as per final architectural and electromechanical drawings. d. Floors and roofs; (Slabs and beams) block out and beams setting out should be checked to match with final architectural and electromechanical drawings. e. Ground beams & slabs on grade setting out should be checked to match with final architectural and electromechanical drawings of ground floor. f. Foundations should be checked to match with columns setting out as per final architectural and electromechanical drawings. 2. Utility rooms (Electric room, ...) : a. Utility rooms setting out must be checked to match final site layout and final architectural drawings. b. Columns and shear walls setting out should be checked to match with final architectural and electromechanical drawings. c. Local buckling of columns should be checked according to floors height as per final architectural and electromechanical drawings. d. Floors and roofs; (Slabs and beams) block out and beams setting out should be checked to match with final architectural and electromechanical drawings. e. Ground beams & slabs on grade setting out should be checked to match with final architectural and electromechanical drawings of ground floor. f. Foundations should be checked to match with columns setting out as per final architectural and electromechanical drawings.

g. All levels stated inside structural drawings should be checked and coordinated with final site layout, architectural drawings, electromechanical drawings and general site grading considering all geotechnical report recommendations for the site.

3. Underground tanks (water tanks, holding tank, reject tank, pump rooms ....): a. Thickness of waifs of all water retaining structures must be checked to make sure that thickness is not less than 300 mm. If less, he must revise the thickness to be 300 mm and will have the same reinforcement for the less thickness. b. All structural elements (walls, raft, roof,..) of water structures must be checked (cross section & reinforcement) according to final architectural, electromechanical drawings, actual site conditions and its geotechnical report recommendations. 4. Fences : a. All internal & external fences must be checked to match with heights & levels of the final architectural drawings, general site layout. b. All structural elements (columns, walls, foundations, beams, ..) of internal & external fences must be checked (cross section & reinforcement) according to final architectural, electromechanical drawings, actual site conditions and its geotechnical recommendations.
