Symantec NetBackup Healthcheck Service ATS-SMT-NBU-HCHEC

This service is aimed at customers who require confidence in the health and configuration of their existing Symantec NetBackup environment. This service delivers a comprehensive audit of a single Symantec NetBackup environment. A formal report details all findings and recommends actions to address any specific areas of concern.

Key Benefits Assess confidence in an existing NetBackup installation. NetBackup configuration reviewed against latest support information, and any issues identified. Hardware configuration reviewed and any areas for improvement identified where possible. Healthcheck is carried out by fully trained and skilled consultants who are experienced with the full Symantec NetBackup product set. All software revisions, patches and firmware versions verified against latest updates and any areas of concern highlighted. A written report is delivered, highlighting all findings and any recommended remedial action. This service is of particular benefit to customers who: Are unsure whether their NetBackup environment is functioning correctly, and need confidence that it will behave as expected under certain failure conditions.

Have had a number of changes made to their NetBackup environment, and need to know that it is still capable of meeting their needs. Are experiencing problems with their NetBackup environment, and need to understand what is wrong and how best to address those problems.

Additional services can also be provided to design and implement new NetBackup implementations.

Service Scope The service comprises an on-site audit of the NetBackup environment and configuration, and a formal written report which is completed off-site on completion of the audit. This service covers NetBackup environments based on a range of different OS platforms including Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, Linux and Windows.

The on-site audit lasts for a maximum of one day, and does not include any disruptive activities. The complete service is delivered in approximately 3-4 working days.

Deliverables Execution of the NetBackup on-site audit by a skilled technical consultant, who has extensive experience of NetBackup, and of many different types of backup and restore environments. Detailed Healthcheck Report of all audit findings and recommendations. Optional final meeting with the customer to review the Healthcheck Report. Optional proposal to address specific areas of concern. The above services are delivered during normal business hours (9am-5.30pm) Monday-Friday, excluding Bank Holidays.
