Injured worker transfered to HSC by STARS

By JENNIFER PAIGE Rapid City in the Cadurcis District to assist with a 40-year-old male who had fallen a significant distance and sustained serious injuries. STARS was later diverted to Minnedosa as ground crews were able to respond quickly and transport the patient to Minnedosa hospital. Hospital staff mentioned that if STARS had not been auto-launched for the transfer, it would have taken ground ambulance another three hours before the patient would have received the medical attention required. Greg Chorney was the pilot of the STARS air ambulance on this call and explains that the majority of calls he sees are for inter-facility transfers, We have the ability to get patients from here to Winnipeg in 45 minutes, and in certain situations every minute can count.

TARS air ambulance touched down briefly at Minnedosa Hospital on the afternoon of Friday, August 16th to assist with a patient transfer to Winnipeg.
