Optimas Rig Cooling System suppresses heat radiation generated by hydrocarbon flaring during well test operations. The solid water wall enables Operators to access better reservoir performance data, improve well bore clean-up, reduce repair and standby costs, preserve installation integrity and personnel safety.

A single Cooling System is capable of supplying up to 4,000 usgpm with protective capabilities up to 20,000 bopd or 150 mmscfd. The Rig Cooling TM System can operate independently from Optimas pumps or be run directly from the installations pumps. Optimas systems are customized to the clients specific needs and include a site survey where all relevant technical data is gathered and specific issues are discussed w i th key i nstal l ati on personnel . H eat r a d i a tion modelling and 3D analysis is carried out based on well characteristics and flaring parameters. Optimas experienced design team provides the right tailored Cooling Solution for the clients needs and application whether it is a small air freighted flare boom package or a high volume twin pump system for a platform. Prior to mobilisation, Optimas Rig Cooling Systems undergo inspection, function testing and 3rd party certification release. All equipment is serviced and maintained by Optimas team of onshore technicians, mechanics and electricians. Highly trained and experienced Field Technicians install commission and run the Cooling Systems. Quality control is ensured by disciplined execution of the process certified at ISO 9001:2000 by DNV which covers design, procurement and service.
APPLICATIONS Exploration and development well testing operations Clean Ups and Drill String Tests Extended Well Tests
BENEFITS Reduces heat radiation during well testing Preserves installation integrity Increased well clean up and flow rates Better reservoir performance data and reduced downtime Reduced repair and standby costs Personnel safety and compliance with HSE requirements and API 521
The Rig CoolingTM System is comprised of electrical submersible pumps that lift seawater to deck level, diesel booster pumps for water distribution to strategically positioned nozzle strings, diverter manifolds, control valves, S/S pipe work, hard wall hose strings and patented Targe nozzles designed to discharge optimum water spray for heat radiation absorption. Offshore analysis has proven the Optima full system is capable of attenuating up to 90% of incident heat radiation during flaring. The Targe Nozzles are performance tested by Lloyds Register for heat attenuation, wind penetration and discharge geometry. The purpose built fleet of submersible and diesel booster pumps have been deployed on semisubmersibles, jackups, platforms, drillships and barges in all weather and environmental conditions.
FEATURES Highly portable Standalone source or installation pumps Proven heat attenuation water wall and fog barrier with up to 90% efficiency Absorb and attenuate radiated heat flux from up to 40Kw/m2 down to below 3Kw/m2 Rigsafe or Zone II pumps Rapid mobilisation Portable mobile or permanent fixed system Fully engineered and proven system with track record
