During the flushing of
impulse line of this
transmitter by C& I
personnel, all running
BFP tripped on dearator
level
very
low
protection.
Dearator has two
standpipes
for
instrumentation.
Standpipe of left hand
side has two level
switches for dearator
level very low protection
of
BFP
and
one
transmitter for level
indication.
On checking it was
found that water sideisolating valve of the
standpipe was in choked
condition. Because of
non
availability
of
sufficient make up water,
level
in
standpipe
dropped
during
the
flushing of impulse line
and both the level
switches of the standpipe
acted,
resulting
in
tripping
of
running
BFPs.
