1.

Background of the study:


This case study is complementary of B. Ed. third year programme. I prepared this report as an important part of my English Practice teaching under the third year programme of Tribhuwan University. As we are students of Education and our aim is to become a good and successful teacher. We should have good knowledge of educational psychology as well as childrens psychology. If we dont have this knowledge we may fail in teaching, because students are not from same family background and other status variation in the student can be found and a teacher should treat then while teaching in class on the basis of their different needs and interest and readiness. A good teacher should keep balance between need and interest of the students and the direction of the subject.

2. Introduction of the student


Shree Laxmi Higher Secondary School is located in Nawalparasi, district of Nepal, at Amarapuri V.D.C. Ward no 4. Anjali Poudel is a student studying in grade 9 in this school, who is the subject of this case study which I did during my practice. Teaching the introduction of the very student is important to make this process effective which is as below. Name Class Roll. 3. Statement of the problem


What I determined before studying the very student is to try to find out the answer of the question how a student becomes brilliant or what are the main factors and aspects that play a vital role to make a student talented and intelligent. One becomes good and gets first position whereas next becomes weak and last though the both of them are taught by same teacher in the same class and environment. There fore, my determination 0f the case study is to get the information and find out the major aspects of happening so and to influence the students to become such brilliant.

4. Importance and significance of the study:


After finishing this case study of the brilliant student, whatever the results will be, are the main reasons or aspects that made this very student talent can be suggested and applied to the students even who is not good at their study. This study has its own importances which mainly are enumerated below: a. It provides proper guidelines to the student who was studied. b. It encourages the weak students. c. It determines the causes that make students weak or strong. d. It keeps record of the student in the school. e. It helps the parents for guiding their children. f. It helps the students to recognize their weaknesses.

5. Objectives of the study


Objective of this study of the very student Anjali Poudel are as follows: a) b) c) d) e) f) g) h) i) j) k) To find out different facts and truth that influences a student. To get information about her educational status. To find out her individual records. To find out how a student is affected by the environment around him\her. To find out her family background and economics status. To provide remedial measures for the student. To provide guidelines to the student who was studied. To encourage the weak students. To determine the causes that make students weak or strong. To keep record of the students in the school. To help the parents for guiding their children.

6. Limitation of the study.


Duration of the study, filed and aspects of the study, means and medium of the study, form of the study, reference of the study and sources of the study are the limitation mentioned above are: a. I started my practice teaching on Sunday, 8th of Baisakh 2070 and it is 28th of Jestha 2070 on which I completed the case study of this very student as an important work of a student teacher under faculty of education Tribhuvan University bachelor third year programme. So, the study is limited only during this period of there. b. The study is limited to the personal report, family background, social background, economic aspect and educational status of the very student.

The means and medium of the study are interview and observation respectively. Personal report is collected by means of oral interview and social, economical and educational reports are collected by means of written sources and oral interview with her parents and neighbours as well.

School report and other document related to the student and interview with the teacher teaching in the school and her classmates are main sources to collect the data related to her educational status.

7. Methodology of the Study:


The case study it self is one of the methods to collect important information and data of the student under this method, there are various means and tools used in the process of the study which kept under methodology which can be the best way of collecting information and data of the student. a. b. c. d. Interview: This is the major source and method of collecting data and information. Interview was in spoken form. Observation: I myself observed the behaviour of the student directly and indirectly. The extra sources of the information were some of the teachers and students of the class.

8. Interpretation and analysis of the data


Several aspects of the student that influence her study such as family background, educational background, social background, economic status, attitude of the student and other things are analyzed and interpreted under this topic which is reported below in detail: 8.1. Family background

Anjali Poudel was born in middle class family in 2055 B.S. in Amarapuri as first daughter of her loving parents Kumar Poudel and Sangita Poudel. Her parents are educated. There are four members in her family. She has one brother. All the members of the family are together till this time. The detail of her family background can be shown in the following table. 8.2 Educational Status

The study is mainly concerned with her educational background. She was admitted in Shree Shankar Devi Lower Secondary School Ratanpur-6, Bhagar for her primary and lower secondary education. She completed her class-8 from there and then she came to admit in the school where she is studying now. In the answer of the question if she had any strong determination to do something after study, she says that she aimed to become a doctor but now, she wants to be a government officer in the future. According to him, she reads newspapers, books, listens to radio and watches TV for general knowledge in leisure. Her father is a Businessman and mother is a shopkeeper. They have some pieces of Land which are fertile and can produce lots of crops which are main source of income in her family. Second reliable source of income is the salary of her father. She has a permanent house having eight rooms. She has many facilities such as Television, and Telephone as well as drinking water, electricity, toilet and bathroom at her home. They produce rice, maize, millet, wheat, potato and varities of curry which is one of the great supporting parts of their economic status. They have reared 3 cows two buffalos, goats, hens and homes for them. Their total amount of income in a year is about two Lakhs and fifty thousand but expenditure is for less than half of their income. According to him and my study, she is from a middle class family. She has a good support of her family in her study. 8.4 Social Background of the Student: She has maintained a good relation in the village. She seems to be kind, helpful, and disciplined. But she doesnt like to be teased by other even in the positive way. She says that she has very good relation with her friends. They ask to solve their problems and she helps them to solve. So, they like him. Though she is helpful and disciplined, she doesnt come to talk to others if it is not necessary. She says that the people are not as serious and

disciplined as they should be. Rather, they do whatever they like without thinking seriously. She says that one should always think at least once before what they are going to do and should behave in a good manner. Anyway, she is studious. She has something good in her speech. According to her teacher and friends she is a good student having some good qualities. She says that she has been doing her best to maintain good relation among others and she expects so from others side as well.

8.5 Conclusion and Remedial Measures: At the end of this case study, we get certain factors that influence the student. What can be concluded on the completion of the study is that the student has been running her study smoothly having a good and educative environment. Conclusion can be listed below: 1. childhood of the very student Anjali Poudel is found to be brought up in lovely and educational environment with varieties of facilities in

the family along with the familys happiness and in a comfortable way. 2. After the study, her educational background is found to be quite good in her classes. 3. Her study up to this class is found to be studying himself expect her school classes. 4. Her family is found having good education and average economic status. 5. Relation among the family, friends, villagers and others is found to be mutual. 6. Her nature is quite ambitious and serious having a strong determination to be government officer though she is studying in this level which is her destination. 7. She is found to be practical and labourious . 8. Her activities are found to be disciplined and quite appreciable.
