com Bexar County Tejano Democrats Meeting

This is one election in which we urge EVERY ELIGIBLE DEMOCRATIC VOTER TO REGISTER AND TO VOTE. We can no longer afford to remain asleep at the wheel; allowing racist extremist republicans to reduce services which our children, our Veterans, our working class and our Seniors need, while they take care of their cronies who run rich corporations, who usually find a way to avoid paying their fair share of taxes. We need to mobilize every corner of this Great State and turn TEXAS it BLUE!!! We must field candidates who will fight STRONGLY fight, for lowering the cost of a college education. Our minority students should not have to sacrifice their youth in the military (too frequently sacrificing their lives) in order to afford a college education. This, of course includes our DREAMERS and Immigrant Warriors who are promised permanent residence and citizenship after serving two years in the military. Too frequently, they have their dreams snatched away when they return from the combat zone with psychological problems. Instead of getting properly diagnosed by the military as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), are pegged as Social Readjustment problems, thus becoming disciplinary problems, using that excuse to separate them with a Less Than Honorable discharge and deport them to their country of origin, without the treatment they need and medical retirement, with the compensation they earned. The government problems which need to be corrected, are many, but most of them have ONE THING IN COMMON: these problems can be resolved by city and county officials, and the legislators, the Governor, Lt Governor and the President we elect. Yes, YOUR VOTE IS IMPORTANT.. AND IT NEEDS TO BE COUNTED.

To our politicians: No elected position is PERMANENT and it must be earned allover again. Placido Salazar, USAF Retired Vietnam Veteran Tejano Democrats member
