Background
VSO has partnered with Help Self Help Centre (HSHC), a registered Kenyan NGO established in 1993, which works with small-holder farmers in the Mt Kenya region to add value to locally produced products such as Tree [Window Title] Tomatoes and Strawberries. VSO is looking for a candidate to help boost commercial production among the mngr.exe smallholder farmers and to accompany them in the ongoing search for better markets. [Main Instruction] mngr.exe has stopped What does the role working involve?

identify relevant markets to target products e.g. supermarkets, international markets; [Content] modify existingfor products and processes; researching current consumer markets and latest technologies Windows is checking a solution to the problem... to develop new product concepts; [Cancel] prepare product costing based on raw materials and manufacturing costs to ensure profitable products; ensure that stringent food safety and quality control standards are met; improve quality control procedures in HSHC and suppliers' factories, from the raw material stage through to the finished product; develop better methods of food preservation, better processing and packaging procedures, better storage and even better delivery processes; liaise and cooperate with technical and commercial colleagues in procurement, sales and technical services, and marketing and distribution, and also with official food inspection and hygiene agencies.

Skills, qualifications and experience required


Food industry work experience is necessary with at least 3 to 5 years experience Meticulous attention to detail, excellent oral communication skills and good team working abilities Minimum is a Bachelors Degree in food science/Technologists Willingness to live within the Peri-urban rural Naro-Moru Motor cycle riding is a MUST for the volunteer

Youll , via be based out of Naromoru and Mweiga areas, about 20 and 40 KM from Nanyuki town in Eastern Kenya. We expect you to commit to 6 months to make a sustainable contribution to our development goals.
