ROBOTICS CLUB IITH

Since the first appearance of a robot in a movie in 1927, robots have intrigued us through innumerable appearances in fictional stories in the media, be it the print or the film. Robotics is the branch of technology that deals with the design, construction, operation, structural disposition, manufacture and application of robots. Robotics Club of IIT Hyderabad has always been a place where some of the most hardworking individuals strive to achieve perfection in the field of Robotics. Club strives to stimulate interest in robotics among the students of the institute. Club came up in 2009 and since its formation, it has come a long way in terms of development and technology. From soldered circuits to well-designed PCBs, from nuts and bolts to aluminium welding, the club has improved by leaps and bounds. The Club is a student-run body on campus. Our purpose is to serve as a safe and fun workspace for students to pursue their interests in robotics. Club aims at reaching each and every student interested in robotics. With the enthusiasm of its members, through the years it has flourished into a fully functional club. Supported by institute, robotics club aims to provide the opportunity and materials to harness the creativity of the students. The club today is an active platform for students to display and develop their practical machine building skills and knowledge. Club also encourages the participation in various competitions (Robocon, Techfest and other regional events) by providing the interested students with required help to showcase their talent on the bigger platform. Students have taken vital help and guidance from the club and have brought laurels to the club. To provide the students with a safe and proper environment to bring out their ideas to realm, club has a separate room that holds all variety of components. Club organizes sessions that aims at bridging the gap between the theoretical knowledge and practical experience. A Club session is accompanied by hands on session to give students a first-hand experience on what they have learned. Club also helps IITH technical festival NVision in organizing robotics events. This year we also participated in ABU-ROBOCON held at PUNE for the first time. Club plans to have an industrial tie-up to help students get a more thorough and practical knowledge and to get industrial projects that will help students to apply their knowledge. The club is currently managed by two coordinators and core team consisting of 5 members.
