ST. ALBERT THE GREAT IS OFFERING A NEW 2 YEAR PROGRAM FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
YEAR 1 September 2013 April 2014 9th grade students (or older who have not received Sacraments) are required to attend classes twice a month, Wednesday evening 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm - 20 lessons. Students who are preparing for the Sacraments will be learning about the commitment to the faith as young adults. It is their decision to continue the journey of faith and participate in life of the community. Sacraments are a commitment to follow Gods teaching and accept Gods presence in life. First Year program is focused on the Creed and Liturgy. Students are required to attend the 9:00 A.M. Mass as a class on the second Sunday of every month. YEAR 2 Fall 2014 10th grade students who completed the 1st year, are required to attend classes twice a month - Wednesday evening 7:00pm - 8:30 pm - 20 lessons. Second year is focused on Prayer and Morality. Students are required to attend Sunday masses, retreat and complete service hours. Baptism, Penance, Eucharist, and Confirmation will take place late March or early April. FOR MORE INFORMATION AND REGISTRATION CALL the CCD office at 708-636-0406 St. Albert the Great is in need of 2 or 3 money counters to count the Sunday offertory collections. If you are interested in helping out please contact Parish Manager Deacon Pete Manning at 708 636-0406. The Baptism Preparation Ministry here at St. Albert the Great is looking for 2 or 3 couples to help in the Baptism preparation ministry. Baptism preparation takes place on the last Monday of the month from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This ministry prepares parents for the Sacrament of Baptism. Couples will be fully trained and will actually present on a rotating basis. For more information please contact Deacon Pete Manning in our Religious Education office or call him at 708 636-0406. Please pray about becoming a part of this ministry.
One of the things our Blessed Lord asks of us is to go out and spread the Good News to all the nations. We do this in many ways, and one of the best ways we can spread the Good News is to hand down our faith to our children. St. Albert the Great has an opportunity for you to spread the Gospel message to children here in the parish by becoming a catechist. The religious education department is looking for (CCD) Catechists for first, second, third, and forth grades. These classes currently meet every other Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. We are also in need of two High School Catechists. The high school program meets on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Please pray and consider being a Catechist. The harvest is plenty and laborers are few. For more information please contact Deacon Pete Manning Coordinator of Religious Education for St. Albert the Great at 708 636-0406.
We extend our best wishes and pray that what has begun in them will be brought to perfection.
