TODAY Welcome! This morning, Pastor Steve remembers Labor Day with a sermon called Work and Rest. In the evening, Pastor Steve continues a month-long sermon series on Romans 16 called Good Friends Along the Way. 11:00 AM Sunday School Teachers Meeting 5:30 PM Evening Service THIS WEEK Wednesday Ladies Bible Study @ 9:30 AM Kortman Home Thursday Holland Rescue Mission Service @ 7:00 PM OFFERINGS Last Sundays Benevolent Offering Thank you for your generous giving. $594.00 was received for the Deacons Fund last Sunday. Currently this fund is at $3604.34. The deacons have set a goal of $5,000.00 for this fund in order to have adequate resources available to help those in need. If you would still like to contribute to this, please designate your gift Deacons Fund and place in the offering plate. Next Sunday Lords Supper & Benevolent Offering - We will celebrate the Lords Supper next Sunday morning. Our benevolent offering will be received next Sunday during both services for the Family Life Center. For more information on this partner ministry see the insert in todays bulletin. ANNOUNCEMENTS Sunday School Teachers All Sunday School teachers and substitutes please join us for a quick orientation meeting in the gymnasium today at 11 a.m. We hope to keep it short (15-20 minutes). ANNOUNCEMENTS Womens Ministry September Meeting On September 10th, there will be a Womens Ministry launch meeting for the new year at 7 PM at the home of Deb Grysen. All ladies of Cedar are invited to attend. For a list of the womens committees and to sign up for a committee, visit the table in the gym. Please see Deb with any questions. Father/Son Cadet Cookout All Cadets (boys grades 3-12) are invited, along with their fathers to a cookout Saturday, September 14, 11 AM 1 PM at Rushcreek Campground. Sign up at the table today. Fellowship Lunch To correspond with the kickoff of the fall Sunday ministries at Cedar, the fellowship lunch this month will be held on the third Sunday, September 15th. Interested in Church Membership at Cedar? On Wednesday evening, September 11th, Pastor Steve will hold a membership seminar from 7:00 8:30 PM at HCS for anyone interested in church membership. The Harvest OPC Women's Ministry Oversight Committee is planning a fall women's conference October 25-26, 2013, at Harvest Church. More details to follow. College Student Addresses - As a new school year has begun and young adults have headed out the door to college campuses please keep us informed about their temporary address so that we can keep in contact with them. COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS Save the Date - Word & Deed is hosting a dinner and auction event on September 21, 2013 to raise awareness and support for the Nakekela HIV/AIDS Clinic in South Africa. The event will be held at Zion Christian School in Byron Center. If you have an item or service that you are willing to donate, please call Susie Osmun at 361-8096 or contact the office at 866-391-5728 or usoffice@wordanddeed.org. Thank you for partnering with us! Zion Christian The senior class at Zion Christian School will sponsor a Hamburger Fry on Friday, September 13, at 6:00pm, at Zion. Please join us for this event, which is a fundraiser for the senior class trip. Meijer Simply Give Double Match Days! The Jenison Meijer has decided to make September 5-7 Double Match Days for the Simply Give campaign. Meijer will match every $10 donation with another $20 during September 5-7. Customers can make a $10 donation at the Jenison Meijer by purchasing a Simply Give card at the Meijer checkout. Money raised will help stock the food pantries in the Hudsonville Love INC network of pantries. Cards are available in the Love INC office, Love's Treasures Resale Shoppes and at the Jenison Meijer (at the checkout please request it). Pop Cans - 15,000-20,000 pop cans are needed by Love INC to complete an inter-church collaborative event involving youth. If you would be willing to donate pop cans for this project, please bring them to Love INC at 3300 Van Buren Street, Hudsonville, Door D2. Free CPR Class - Mark your calendars for a free CPR class coming to Harvest on Monday evening, Sept. 16, at 7 pm. A certified instructor will lead a class on life-saving techniques, including the use of an AED. All teenagers and adults are welcome! If anyone is interested, the instructor is also willing to hold a second class on first aid.
