ISRO-IIRS OUTREACH PROGRAMME @ IMS ENGINEERING COLLEGE

(Affiliated to Mahamaya Technical University, Noida)

About the Programme


Initiated in 2007 to complement educational programmes of Indian universities Utilises the Ku-Band facility of INSAT-4CR, an ISRO Satellite Successfully conducted 10 courses so far with participation of about 8572 students from 84 universities (including one foreign university) Two courses are conducted annually - (1) Basics of RS, GIS & GPS; (2) Advance Course on Specialised Topic

Who can Participate?


Final year undergraduate students Postgraduate students Researchers Research Institutions and Academia Users under CEC-UGC / CIET networks Institutions on high speed National Knowledge Network (NKN)

Role & Responsibilities


Responsibility for overall implementation of the programme lies with IIRS Identified coordinators at university, supported by faculty of IIRS, help in: - Smooth conduct of training programme - Obtaining feedback - Completion of assignments/ tutorials evaluation etc. Teaching End - Class Room Network

SCNP, ISRO DECU, ISRO CEC - UGC CIET - NCERT A-VIEW - NMEICT Sponsored by National Natural Resources Management System (NNRMS), Department of Space, Government of India EDUSAT Studio at IIRS

IMS Engineering College, Ghaziabad (Affiliated to Mahamaya Technical University, Noida), has collaborated with ISRO-IIRS (Ministry of Space Govt. of India) to start a collaborative outreach program for capacity building on GIS, GPS and Remote Sensing Technology. College has setup a lab for that which will further help working on some collaborative project related to the application of these up coming technology.
