OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

The study for the Steam Management at Ruwais Refinery facilities will enable to solve the steam efficiency issues and increase the reliability of the steam network during any partial shutdown as well as solving heat losses due to inadequate and/or old insulation, malfunctioning of steam traps, line or flange leakages, etc. Piping sizing will be another task to be accomplished during the study in order to assure through engineering calculations solutions for improving energy efficiency of the steam network. A refinery network steam balance will be done using Standard Steam Balance Simulation software such as HYSIS and a Load Shedding plan will be built in the simulation for various emergency scenarios. The engineering services shall provide all necessary design drawings, specifications, calculations, and documents to support the Steam Management Study. The design for all disciplines shall be issue based on the mandatory Engineering Standards followed by TAKREER and International Standards for steam lines; where conflicts exist between these codes and standards, the more stringent requirement shall prevail.

SCOPE OF WORK
The Scope of Work under the CONTRACT will be limited to the Study of the Steam Network Management at Ruwais Refinery facilities, including the interfaces with existing demanding steam refinery process equipment, also all individual interfaces required and safe execution of the study will be achieved, within the physical battery limits (BL). All the engineering activities associated to the Study, shall be based on the survey results and evaluations made during the steam balance simulations as well as the updated technical information to be supplied by the Company. The scope of work includes only the services associated to the Ruwais Refinery Steam Network and shall include the following activities as per Exhibit A.1 of ITB: Kick-Off meeting at Ruwais on award of the contract, to discuss in detail the scope of services and plans for coordination of the job execution. Site visits for collecting data, drawings, documents or any other requirements to execute the job during the time of the study. Revision of technical information Survey of the Refinery Steam Network to map and quantify the steam losses. The Company will provide an area inside the refinery for temporary facilities (Trailer) with electrical service for quick connection. Steam Temperature Survey to identify temperature drop in HP/MP and LP steam lines from generation to consumers

Development of integrated PFD and P&ID of the entire refinery steam network to include all steam generation and consumers, HP / MP boilers, process steam generators and users, flare, storage tanks, ejectors, vents, condensate, boiler feed water, blow down, re-boilers, ejectors, PRS, PRDS, turbines, Etc. Identification of refinery process units consuming steam above design requirements and provide recommendations to optimize consumption Verification of existing steam network piping Identification and possible location of new stream flow meters Requirement of additional steam traps as per standard engineering requirement General evaluation of steam turbines to optimize steam consumption and efficiency General evaluation of steam generators to optimize steam production and efficiency Identification of new requirements in case existing steam network is inadequate to support operations. Evaluation of the steam condensate network Simulation of steam network by using Pro Steam software for Steam Balance Simulation of Load Shedding for different emergency scenarios Cost Estimate ( 30%) Final Report
