INTRODUCTION
The competition has a fixed start and finish time. You must decide how best to divide your time. All hardware will be rebooted before marking is started. You may choose any package for implementation of the services. Wherever possible, we will test only on the functionality of the requirements followed by coding if it is not possible. You are strongly advised to continually save your work/setup/configuration as you progress.

INSTRUCTIONS TO THE COMPETITOR

Install all servers and network components as described below. Note: PC1s administrator username is admin with a password of London20!!.

Please use default configuration if you are not given details If no password is specified, use London20!! as the default password
All software is provided on CD/DVD or ISO images in c:\softwares.

Do not bring any materials with you to the competition. Mobile phones are not to be used. Do not disclose any competition material / information to any person during each days competition. Read the whole competition script prior to you starting work.

DC (Windows Server 2008 R2):

Use one of the VMs installed with Windows Server 2008 R2 to configure the DC server with the settings specified in the Appendix 1 Synchronize the time source with the LS NTP server Install Active Directory Domain Services. o Create a new Organization Unit named excel. All new users and groups must be created in this OU. o Create the following users and security global group with members as indicated in the following table. Use London20!! as the password for all user accounts:

Configure DNS server for the excel.uk domain for the name to IP address resolutions. o All necessary hostname and services records have to be created in the DNS records. o Forward all other queries to LS. Install Distributed File System and join DC to the excel.uk DFS namespace after you have configure DFS on SVR. Configure users profiles and share folders: o Enable roaming profile and store the user profiles at \\excel.uk\profiles\username. o Redirect the folder to \\excel.uk\rfolders\username. o Create users home folder \\excel.uk\home\username and ensure it is mapped to Z: at each logon automatically. Assign 1 GB of storage space to every user Prevent any mp3 songs to be stored on the home folder. o Create departmental share folders on \\excel.uk\IT, \\excel.uk\Sales and \\excel.uk\Marketing and map the respective share folder to Y: at logon, depending on the department the user is in. Users should not be allowed to access other departments shares. Ensure the company user password must meet the following criteria: o Domain passwords will be at least 6 characters. o Strong passwords need not be enforced. o Passwords will not be stored with reversible encryption. o Passwords will be changed exactly every 90 days. o Accounts will be locked out for 30 minutes after five invalid logon attempts. The password of the users in IT group must meet the following criteria: o Domain passwords will be at least 10 characters. o Strong passwords will be enforced.

o Passwords will not be stored with reversible encryption. o Passwords will be changed exactly every 30 days. o Accounts will be locked out for 15 minutes after three invalid logon attempts.

Configure GPO on excel.uk domain to fulfill the following requirements: o At logon on DC, SVR and Notebook1, users should see this message before logging in: For authorized usage only. Unauthorized usage is strictly prohibited. o All users, except Administrator group, are not allowed to access Control Panel. o Configure Restricted Group policy to include IT global group in the local Administrators group for all of the organizations computers.
SVR (Windows Server 2008 R2):

Use one of the VMs installed with Windows Server 2008 R2 to configure the SRV server with the settings specified in the Appendix 1 Join SVR to excel.uk Windows domain. Synchronize the time source with the LS NTP server. Install DHCP o Lease out IP address in the Office network only. o Exclude statically assigned IP address in the Office network. o Specify DNS server of 192.168.10.10 Install and configure domain-based namespace Distributed File System (DFS) as specified in the Appendix 2. Install RemoteApp and Desktop Connections o Install Firefox and include it in the RemoteApp application list. o Allow the users to launch the Firefox from the Notebook1 by clicking the Shortcut with transparent authentication (You must not install the Firefox on Notebook1).
LS (Debian 6):

Create a new VM with Debian 6 and configure the LS server with the settings specified in the Appendix 1 Create one hard disks 20 GB in size, install Debian 6 with the following partitions layout: o / 8 GB o /home 5 GB o /var 5 GB o swap 2 GB Create three more hard disk 10 GB in size and setup RAID 5. Mount the volume at /web. Please configure the server with the settings specified in the Appendix 1. Configure the following Login Banner with the current time before the login prompt:

 Install web services o Store the webpages in /web. o Create a default webpage index.html with the content of Welcome to ExCel London!. o The URL for the web site should be http://www.excel.uk. o Schedule a backup job to backup the web content in /web folder every night at 11pm. Store the backup as ISO9660 image with the date (i.e. yyyy-mm-dd.iso) as the file name in /backup folder. (e.g. 2011-1001.iso).

Notebook1(Windows 7):

Notebook1 is pre-installed with Windows 7. Please configure the notebook with the settings specified in the Appendix 1. Join Notebook1 to excel.uk Windows domain. Notebook will be used for testing from the office network and internet. Make sure the notebook is connected to the office network before you leave the competition site.
Router1:

Configure the router with the settings specified in the Appendix 1. Configure DHCP relay agent for the Office network. Synchronize the time source with the LS ntp server. Configure DHCP service on FA0/1 interface to provide IP addresses to the internet cloud

Lease out 100.0.0.100-100.0.0.199 IP addresses. o Specify DNS server of 100.0.0.10. Configure Network Address Translation: o LS is statically translated to 100.0.0.2. o All other hosts are dynamically translated to 100.0.0.201-100.0.0.250.
SW1:

Configure the switch with the settings specified in the Appendix 1. Configure ports as follows
