LESSON PLAN
Date: 9th July 2013 Time: 8.50 am 9.50 am (60 minutes) Class: 4 Mawar (20 pupils) Theme: World of Stories Topic: Animals Learning Outcome: 1.7.1 Listen to simple stories and fables and respond non-verbally and verbally. 1.7.2 Listen to simple stories and fables and recall the name of people and animals in the story. 2.4.2 Complete parts of a story heard or read before. 3.4.1 Read aloud words and phrases pronouncing them correctly. Focused Skill: Listening Integrated Skill: Speaking, reading and writing. Educational Emphasis: Multiple Intelligence: Interpersonal intelligence, verbal linguistics, kinesthetic intelligence Thinking skill: categorization, sequencing ICT- video Moral Values: It is best to prepare for the days of necessity. Aim: To introduce new vocabulary and Aesops Fables.

Behavioural Objective: By the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to: a) Understand the summary of the Aesops Fables. b) Identify and pronounce the new vocabulary at least three out of five correctly in the story heard. c) Match all the picture cards in correct sequences d) Identify and write six out of eight words correctly from the story they listen. e) Rearrange all the story sequence heard in correct order. Teaching Aid: video, picture cards, word cards, word strips Pupils previous knowledge: Pupils have heard about the story of Jack and the beanstalk

Teacher/Pupils activities Teacher divides pupils into groups of four. Teacher distributes a picture card of the story in envelope to every group. Teacher instructs the pupils to match the picture cards in sequence according to the story heard. Teacher distributes endingpicture cards to pupils. In groups, pupils have to brainstorm ideas and come with suitable ending that match the ending-picture cards given. Teacher instructs pupils to present their story in the form of role play.
