Any textbook on Analog and Digital Communications. Homework: Will be assigned weekly and solutions made available on Oncourse Exams: There will be two in-class 75-minute exams, and a final exam. All exams will be closed book, closed notes. No calculators will be allowed. Exam dates are Exam1: 10/09/2013 Exam2: 11/13/2013 Final Exam Wednesday, December 11, 8:00am to 10:00pm Re-grades: Re-grade requests must be submitted in writing within one week of the date the exam was returned. Grades: Exam1: 30% of your final grade. Exam2: 30 % of your final grade Final: 35% of your final grade. Lab Reports: 5% of your final grade. Course Policy: 1. No make up tests will be given. If you miss any test you will receive no credit. 2. Any case of cheating will result in an F grade for the course. 3. Exams are cumulative 4. Final exam will not be returned but you may look at it 5. You have to complete all experiments to pass the course

Digital Modulation Techniques 10. Introduction to Information Theory and source Coding.

Cheating The University defines cheating as follows: Cheating is considered to be an attempt to use or provide unauthorized assistance, materials, information, or study aids in any form and in any academic exercise or environment. 1. A student must not use external assistance on any in-class or take-home examination, unless the instructor specifically has authorized external assistance. This prohibition includes, but is not limited to, the use of tutors, books, notes, calculators, computers, and wireless communication devices. 2. A student must not use another person as a substitute in the taking of an examination or quiz, nor allow other persons to conduct research or to prepare work, without advance authorization from the instructor to whom the work is being submitted. 3. A student must not use materials from a commercial term paper company; files of papers prepared by other persons, or submit documents found on the Internet. A student must not collaborate with other persons on a particular project and submit a copy of a written report that is represented explicitly or implicitly as the students individual work. 4. A student must not use any unauthorized assistance in a laboratory, at a computer terminal, or on fieldwork. 5. A student must not steal examinations or other course materials, including but not limited to, physical copies and photographic or electronic images. 6. A student must not submit substantial portions of the same academic work for credit or honors more than once without permission of the instructor or program to whom he work is being submitted. 7. A student must not, without authorization, alter a grade or score in any way, nor alter answers on a returned exam or assignment for credit.
