    Jesus told his disciples to go ahead of him in their boat to the other side of the lake while he stayed behind to pray. That evening, a storm arose and the disciples struggled against the wind and waves far from shore. Jesus walked across the water to them, but the disciples were afraid, thinking he was a ghost. Jesus calmed them and told them not to be afraid. Peter asked to walk on the water too, and Jesus allowed it, but Peter began to sink when he took his eyes off Jesus and doubted. Jesus rescued Peter and calmed the storm, and the disciples declared Jesus to be the Son of God. The passage teaches that one can have peace even in storms by truly trusting in God.

    One day, Jesus asked his disciples to get into their boat and go to the other side the

    lake.


    Jesus then went up on a mountain where he could be alone and pray. Later that evening, he was still there.


    Meanwhile, the disciples' boat was a long way from land. They were in danger, because a storm had come up and the boat was being tossed around by the waves and the wind.


    Early that morning, Jesus decided to go to them, so he walked on top of the water across the lake toward the boat!


    When the disciples saw Jesus, they were terrified. Its a ghost! they cried out in fear.


    Jesus called out to them and said, "Do not be afraid. It is I!"


    Then Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water."

    Jesus told Peter, "Come! So, Peter got out of the boat and started walking to Jesus on the surface of the water.


    But after a short distance, Peter turned his eyes away from Jesus and began to look at the strong wind and waves. He began to sink and cried out, Lord, save me!


    Jesus reached out right away and grabbed him. Then he said to Peter, Peter, you have so little faith. Why did you doubt?"


    When Jesus and Peter got into the boat, the wind died down. The disciples worshiped Jesus and said, You really are the Son of God!

    When you truly trust Jesus, you can have peace in the midst of storm . The Bible says, You (God) will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is fixed on You because he trusts in You. (Isaiah 26:3)
