VCR recorder. They can be used for teaching, making presentations or playing video and sound files. Here are some instructions for setting up the Multimedia trolley in your classroom. 1. First, you will need to take a trolley from the IT Storage Room, located near the Computer Labs. The key is kept in the Instructors Office ( A spare key is kept by the Administrative Assistant, Sonal.) 2. Push the trolley to the classroom, making sure that you do not push it sideways, as it is more likely to tip over. Push it like a shopping trolley from the shorter end. 3. Position the trolley in the classroom so that the projector is facing the whiteboard or another flat, blank space. Plug the power lead into the wall socket and switch it on. 4. Press the Stand By button on top of the projector. It needs a few minutes to warm up, so remember to turn it on before you start working with other parts of the trolley. 5. While you are waiting for the projector to warm up, start setting up the rest of the trolley. If you want to use the laptop to show Internet material or anything on the ACK network, you need to plug the network cable into the telephone network. The socket is labeled with a letter D. Once you have plugged the network cable in, you can turn the laptop on. If you want to use the DVD or the VCR, turn them on now. 6. When the projector is ready, use the remote control to select a source (which machine you want it to connect to). The source button is at the bottom left corner of the remote control. Press it until the correct source is displayed in the top right corner of the projector screen. 7. If the picture displayed by the projector is a bit blurry, focus by turning the front ring of the projector lens until the picture is clearer. Comprehension Questions 1.
