National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (Jan 2013-May 2013) The project objective was to design a supply chain network for a wine company, under risk, by minimizing the total expected cost. In this process it was required to find out number of plants to be set up, quantity of wine to be transported between nodes, shortage cost and expansion cost if required. The model is of stochastic nature and is solved using GAMS/DECIS solver. The solution obtained is analyzed for getting optimum result.

Analysis for Avg. Threading and Rolling Time for Pickling line and 6-HI Rolling Mill Tinplate Company of India Limited (A TATA enterprise), Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. (May 2011-June 2011) The project dealt with the study of processes involved in cold roll manufacturing (CRM) unit of the plant. CRM facility had pickling line, 6-HI rolling mill, electrochemical cleaning line, 4-HI tandem rolling mill. In pickling line, a detailed time study was carried out, for processes involved in each stage and bottlenecks were identified. Solution was recommended for the identified problems. In 6-HI mill, the rolling parameters i.e. number of pass; speed was studied using F-DAS system. F-DAS generates graphical pattern of speed variations during each pass of rolling operation. Data pertaining to period of 30 days was collected, analyzed and operators were ranked according to their efficiency. The performance of the mill during the three shifts of operation was also analyzed using the same process.
