Instruction For Visitors

Visitor visiting Hazardous area like (a) (b) (c) Manufacturing Plants I, II, II & IV, Pilot Plant Hazardous Material storage like Solvent Storage Tank Farm, Liquid Raw Material Stores, LDO Storage, Laboratory location where dangerous reaction going on Boiler house, Multiple Effect Evaporator, Incinerator, Utility

Should read following instruction before proceeding to the area: (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) (v) (vi) (vii) (viii) (ix) (x) Security or Receptionist shall inform the concerned area company representative about the arrival of visitor and the purpose of visit Either concerned area company representative shall come to the security office / Reception or security shall guide visitors to reach the area of visit. Visitor should be accompanied by concerned area company representative during visit inside the hazardous area Visitor should follow the instruction of company representative If any abnormalities like solvent spillage, small fire, spark, steam leakage or any type of material leakage, found by visitor, he should immediately bring it to the notice of company representative. If asked to evacuate the area, visitor must report to the nearby assembly point or security gate or reception area or follow the area representative instruction. Visitor should keep his mobile / cell phone in off mode during his visit to the hazardous area Visitor should declare name & quantity of hazardous material bring by him inside the Unimark Premises and he should inform company representative on hazards of the material If required, the visitor should wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as per the advise from company representative and while leaving premises, the PPE should be deposited at the security gate For any injury or illness, inform company representative, who will Take to the Occupational Health Centre for necessary first aid.

CHECKLIST FOR THE EQUIPMENT/INSTRUMENT USED BY CONTRACTORS INSIDE THE PREMISES FOR PROJECT, MANITENANCE, CIVIL, ELECTRICAL WORK WHICH MAY POSE HAZARD (1) If the equipment/instrument is to be used in flammable area than check for following: a. Is equipment/instrument intrinsically safe? If no reject it b. Is Electrical fittings are flame proof? c. Is ELCB inbuilt or provided For Hot work a. Are Compressed gas cylinders being used for cutting having color code as per IS? b. Is condition of the cylinders good? c. Is trolley available with cylinders and of good condition? d. Are cylinders are provided with efficient standard type pressure regulator and back flow of gas will be restricted by second non-return type valve? e. Does a competent person examine all equipments like welding/cutting torch, pipelines/tubes, brackets, non-return valves and pressure regulators? f. Is welding machine condition well? g. Is cable provided with welding machine is in good condition (no cuts)? h. Is a proper electrical fitting available with cables (no use of open wire in socket)? i. Are all electrical cables/wires brings by contractor in good condition? Are the scaffold/ladders are in good condition? Are lifting tackles used by the contractors are certified by the approved agency? Does the vehicle used by contractor, in good condition? Does the material handling equipment used by contractor are in good condition? Is contractor informing about the material he brings inside, a toxic or flammable? Other equipments like heaters, grinders, polishing machines, etc. which being used by contractor are safe and in good condition? Is contractor following the permit procedure for HOT Work, Confined Space Entry, Working at Elevated Height? Is contractor takes permission before working in hazardous area? Is contractor giving the detail of the equipment for inspection? Is Contractor aware of the Hazard in the premises and location of assembly points?
