INTRODUCTION

Nowadays, our society is bounded with problems that results to the sufferings of the many people.
One of our concerns is the delivery of goods and services of our government which sometimes delay and
unequal in the distribution of projects and programs in catering to the needs of the people. Those needs
may be sociological or cultural aspects that may uplift the local scenario of the Community.
One of the sociological aspects is to interact with one another. Activities those are active and
vigorous so that the pent- up emotions of the youth will be channeled to a productive endeavor and to a
positive pursuit of a social development. The populations, especially teenagers are active in terms of
physical activity and recreational pursuits and one of the enjoyable human activities is sports. What can
sports do? Is it really beneficial for the youth? Actually in our experiences, is one avenue for the positive
development of youth enthusiasm and dynamism? Sports helps to eliminate stress and boredom in life
it will also help refresh and upgrade a persons mind and body.
Our proposal is Sports Park Complex to be located at Zone 1, Barangay Compania Central, Molo,
Iloilo City. As what we have observed in this barangay at Compania Central, there is a lack of sports
facilities which is badly needed by the community. In order for them to become active in sports and to
be aware of things which will lead them in a wrong path, this propose project is very helpful for them,
not only for the youth but for the people with interest as well because this project can cater to their
needs and can venue of their personal growth and development towards a productive citizens of the
community.
Doing things like this, motivates the youth to escape from any vices which influence by other peers.
Projecting the result of this project is very much beneficial. Physical and mental aspects develop as the
youths involve in the activities. Physical, in the sense that movement of the body is required to be active
and mental development, in the sense that they are thinking of the possible outcome as they involved.
Social and community development also include in this matter.

I. BACKGROUND OF STUDY
HISTORY
The town of Molo, which is now one of the districts of the city of Iloilo, small size when
compared to other towns, it played a giant role in the history of the Philippines. Its area is only
4,205,600 square meters (Angayan 1970) but it served in various periods as Iloilos trade center,
as Athens of the Philippines and as the birthplace of prominent leaders in the country history.
It was built by Spaniards and was formerly called the Parian (Chinatown) due to its large
number of Chinese and their business establishments in the area at the time. Its name was later
changed to Moro during the frequent arrival of Muslim pirates from Mindanao until it later
evolved to Molo. Molo was a town before it was absorbed by Iloilo City during its charter in
1937.
In the second half of the 19
th
century, Molo earned the sobriquet Athens of the
Philippines or center of learning. It was here that schools like the Instituto de Molo, Centro
Escolar and Colegio de Santa Ana was were established. Instituto de Molo was founded by
Manuel Locsin while Centro Escolar was owned by the brothers Perfecto, Fernando and Felix
Salas. Colegio de Santa Ana was an exclusive school for girls founded by the Avacea sisters:
Jovita, Ramona and Viewed outside, the church is the dominant structure in Molo. Its twin
belfries break the skyline and one can hear that tolling of its bells for kilometers. It is
affectionately known as the Women Church because of the sixteen nearly life-size images of
female saints occupying the columns on either side of the churchs central aisle.

SITE ANALYSIS
Spatial Context
The micro climate is one of the considerations in selecting the sites in order to attain the
overall good design. The site has two seasons, the dry season from February to August and wet
season during September to January. The lot is categorized as good land suitable for building
the structures. The Drainage System is available and possible to install because of the presence
of the nearby irrigation system.
