Iron Man

Comic books have been around for centuries. It has evolved into an extremely popular organization and is still continuing to grow. Marvel still continues to excite people. History of comic book: Comic books have remained popular for centurys, always leaving people to want more. Before there were comics they had something called comic strips which were found in your newspapers. In 1986 a comic came out called Yellow Kid it was one of the first strips to be printed in a pulp magazine. A man named Stan Lee decided to create comic books about superheroes. In the late 1930s and early 40s superheroes became popular all over the world, they created all different types of superheroes such as superman, batman, spider-man and hulk who have been around for decades. These superheroes dealt with a lot of emotions such as personal, social, and political issues. In the 1930s it was a tragic time because of the great depression, people were losing faith and trying to escape from their reality so they turned to comic books and television. Many of the superheroes possessed no powers but had the ability to work with weapons. In 1941 they introduced the first woman superhero, named wonder woman. Wonder woman became as popular as superman and batman. DC decided that they wanted to give batman a sidekick so they created robin. Soon after that many other superheroes started having sidekicks. 1940s the focus was on world war two. They saw it as the people needing help to fight war in Europe. After world war two ended superhero comics began to die out. In 1954 a man named Fredrick Wetham wrote a book called seduction of the innocent, accusing marvel for the corruption of young children. He made false and terrible accusations about superman, batman and wonder woman. He made it hard for marvel to publish after that. Every comic had to be approved first. Older comic books sold faster than newer versions because of the history they have behind them, so the more they sold the more they kept printing. Once buyers realized the reason behind it they stopped buying them. After, they started making movies based on the superheroes from comic books raising the percentage of films. Comics are no longer selling as high as they used to but they still remain valuable and will remain unchanged. making him feel useless and unworthy of protecting his town. So he created a microchip to help him walk again. After he created this device he was ready to take on whomever. History of character Iron man is a very popular superhero and a very important character. He is known as the best dressed superhero of marvel. Iron man has changed his look frequently over the years, which he can afford because he is a wealthy inventor. Tony Stark is the man behind the suit, he contains no super power of his own but the armor he wears gives him the strength to take on whomever. Tony had a heart condition that was caused by an exploding body trap in Vietnam. This injury caused his heart to stop functioning right, tony then attempted a heart transplant that left him paralyzed, and he managed to walk again by creating a microchip you had to insert into your body. Like most marvel superheroes iron man had a lot of complications in his personal life. Such as, taking over his fathers company in manufacturing. Tony loved creating new things and wearing the suit of iron man. He felt as though he had all the power in the world. Although iron man faced a lot of self-personal issues he still managed to put it aside and protect others against evil. Tony stark is a combination of man and machine. Stan Lee had a major impact on marvel even though he didnt plan on being in the business long. He was partly the reason why the marvel industry had so many sales and became world- wide. He created hundreds of characters that made the company go up in sales. Lee took lots of time and patience into creating his characters; he made sure each character fit its description. He was good at what he did. (www.complex.com) Personal review of comic: Honestly I dont know much about comic books or the point of them but I was slightly interested in the iron man comic. The part that interested me most was the fact that he was so talented and creative when it came to creating iron man. He gave a clear perspective on the point of the iron man suit and what it was created for. Its amazing how hes human yet he survives off of a suit made of iron. Personally I thought the comic could have a little bit more information and was more interesting to read. I felt like I didnt have much to go off of. I think they could have done better.
