Breton an dros. Infused with Latin and Mediterranean rhythms, African hand drumming and percussion, blues/rock guitar backdrops and more, the band promises to deliver a charming evening of both the expected and the unexpected. Rant Maggie Rant features Newfoundland native Lindsay Schindler (fiddle, vocals), Glen Dias (lead vocals, recorder and incidental percussion) and Barry James Payne (acoustic guitar, vocals). Cultural Odyssey chairperson Karen Robinet said the committee was very excited to bring the band to Chatham as part of the War of 1812 commemoration. We had dubbed that evening A Musical Odyssey long before we knew who wed be bringing to the stage, said Robinet in a news release. And, as it turns out, Rant Maggie Rant is the perfect band to blend past with present which is a great way to help mark the two centuries that have passed since the War of 1812. Tickets to Rant Maggie Rant are $15 each and can be purchased at the Chatham Cultural Centre box office at 519-354-8338 or online at www.cktickets.com. There will also be tickets available at the door. To learn more about the Cultural Odyssey 1813 week in Chatham-Kent, visit http:// culturalodyssey.wix.com/2013.
