In the last several years Russ has been fortunate to place

within the top three positions at several contests on

Along with finishing his first hand built dreadnought

Russ has also been influenced by some great clawham-

Martin. All of these experiences have resulted in Russ
developing a real passion for traditional music. His pri-

Although he has taken some ribbing from his peers at

times, Russ is continuing to press ahead to learn and
expand his banjo playing, and most recently has been
working hard to become proficient on clawhammer
banjo, flat-picking guitar, and some mandolin and bass.
