Recommendation that Council receive the “Proposed Extension of Fraser Sewerage Area –

That Council request that the Greater Vancouver Regional District expand the existing Fraser
Sewerage Area boundary to include Parcel E RP15090 as shown in Attachment A.

3. Reclamation of Boulder Pit at 3500 244 Street

That Council approve the transfer of funds up to the amount of $75,000 from Operating
Contingency for purposes of reclamation work at Boulder Pit.

4. Construction of 16 Avenue Intersections at 216 Street and 240 Street

That Council approve the transfer of funds from the 16 Avenue at 248 Street Road Construction
project to the 16 Avenue at 216 Street Signal Installation project in the amount of $ 286,245 for
the purpose of installing a signal with warning flashers; and further
That Council approve the transfer of funds from the 16 Avenue at 248 Street Road Construction
project to 240 Street in the amount of $165,754 to enable tendering of the addition of left turn
lanes.

5. Langley Care Society Grant Request – Follow up

Recommendation that Council approve a grant of $33,000 per year over three years to the
Langley Care Society and fund the 2009 contribution by a combination of $10,000 from the 2009

6. Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation Request for Tax Relief

Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation (LMHF) requesting property tax relief on a lot they own
located near the Langley Memorial Hospital.

E. CORRESPONDENCE
1. Langley Care Foundation Grant Request

Letter received from Terry Metcalfe, Co-Chair, Langley Care Society, providing additional
information for consideration in regards to the request for financial support for the expansion and
renovation of the Langley Lodge.
Clerk’s Note: Refer to Item D.5 of the June 22, 2009 Special Agenda. T he request for support from Langley
Care Society was referred to staff at the May 25, 2009 Special Council Meeting.
Letter received from Shirley Gust, Chair, South Fraser Family Court & Youth Justice Committee
requesting that Council adopt a change to the Committees’ Terms of Reference as follows:
That the committee revert to the 2004 Terms of Reference (ratified by all five member municipal
Councils); and
That the five member municipal Councils be requested to adopt a revision to the Terms of
Reference to allow for the appointment of one Council member from each municipality to the
Committee with voting rights.
Clerk’s Note: The Committee requests that Council adopt changes to the terms of reference as outlined.

COUNCIL
Recommendation that Council receive the recommendation of the EDAC Committee that Council
consider the following principles when approving future developments:
Emphasize mixed use development as a long term strategy that incorporates Crime
Prevention Through Environmental Design principles and placemaking principles that
supports long term sustainability of the Township;
Encourage densification/intensification;
Focus on urban village mixed use development (office/retail/residential); and
Not consider exceptions to the above.

Recommendation that Council receive the recommendation of the EDAC Committee that the
committee endorses the content of the Farmers Market Considerations report and specifically
support the Consultation and Policy Framework flow diagram.

Channel.
