Course Objectives 1. To equip students with the skills for speaking in public 2. To prepare students with the sound understanding and knowledge of methods in conducting public speaking 3. To help students having a good start to do public speaking Course Textbook Student Evaluation Coursework Attendance : 10% Assignments : 10% Presentation (2nd meet & on) : 60% (@15%) Final Speech : 20% (no Mid Term nor Final Term in Public Speaking)
Passing Mark: 60% and above

Letter grades will be assigned only at the end of the course. Successful completion of the course requires and overall of 60% or better. The following scale will be used in determine the course grade: A = 85-100 B = 75-84.9 C = 60-74.9 D = 55-59.9 E = Below 55 Emphasis on this subject is towards Presentation in class. Failure to conduct Presentation as schedule more than two times, student(s) is(are) not eligible to sit for Final Speech and directly noted asRETAKE to this subject.

2 Assignments Students need to make report/ outline for the speech focusing on the introduction, body and conclusion will be marked in as assignments.
Attendance Policy Class Attendance is crucially important, because if you miss more than three classes, you will not be able to join FINAL SPEECH. It is unlikely that a student who does not attend class on a regular basis will do well in the course. Therefore, do not be absent.

Regulations
1. Students failing to put in minimum of 75% attendance shall be barred from taking the final exam. If you must miss class for an extended period of time, please contact the instructor to make arrangements for missed work. 2. Students are also expected to be prepared for class and participate in a positive manner. A positive manner is defined as offering meaningful comments related to the subject matter in a respectful way. 3. It is the students responsibility to complete work in this class. If a student is absent, it is his/her responsibility and obligation to find out what was missed and complete any assignments. 4. Tardiness will not be tolerated. Students are given 20 minutes tolerance of being late to attend the class. More than that there will be a penalty (such as not allow to attend the lecture). Except there are documents which could be shown or some emergency reason from the employer to make the subject lecturer understand the situation faced by the student(s). 5. Homework must be handed in the beginning of the class. Late homework is not tolerable. Punishment and reward will be given accordingly. 6. Students are expected to submit original work. This means that every student must submit unique work that is primarily their own. Work copied or plagiarized from another source will automatically receive a zero (0). This includes cutting and pasting from web sites. 7. No Mobile Phone is permitted to use during the lecture. These include taking in the phone, playing mobile, sending short message service (SMS), BBM (Black Berry Messenger), and so forth. Mobile phone should remain it in silent or vibrate mode. 8. The use of Portable Notebook and electronic gadgets like i-Pads are prohibited during the lecture, EXCEPT during certain discussion with the conditions applied. 9. Students who do not bring Notes, Textbooks, and necessary stationeries are not allowed to be inside of the class. 10. Students have to be inside the class waiting for lecturer, if the lecturer not yet comes. 11. Participation in class is encouraged. There will be an extra point for participation. 12. There will be no replacement for presentation, except for any medical proofs or emergency calls. 13. Students are not allowed to move their class to other class without approval from Academic Department. Failure to do so, absences is counted in the attendance percentage. 14. Students that are never absence and late to the class will be given an extra point up to 10%.

Presentation Students must get his/her power point slides and supporting materials ready in the beginning of the class. Copy the files in folder under your name in classroom PC desktop. Doing the slides in the class , in the middle, or submit in the end are not tolerable. Punishment and Reward will be given accordingly

Constructive Input Each time your friend finished presenting a material, students are encouraged to give positive comments and constructive ones. This will eventually build a positive presentation environment and earn the students a positive attitude.
