This biennial meeting offers a policy and technical forum for countries in the Latin American and Caribbean region to discuss and address forest issues. Government officials from forestry and other sectors are encouraged to attend, as are representatives of NGOs, private industry and other organizations dealing with forestrelated issues in the region. The summit, which will be hosted by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and the President of Costa Rica, will bring together young people to discuss youth issues and information and communications technology (ICT) in the context of development. These are important factors influencing youth involvement and participation in agriculture. The discussion ad outcomes from this event offer agriculture youth organizations, Government ministries supporting youth development and agriculture development agencies a lucrative opportunity to be informed on global youth trends, issues an solutions that empower youth to contribute to the development process.
