our philosophy
Genuine quality of life is not about owning a bigger car or a more expensive house; it is about
what we see, hear, touch and eat, and about the people we meet and about how we interact
with them. When a new experience gives new insights, increases our understanding or adds
to our perceptiveness, it enriches us as individuals. We believe this true not just of creative,
scholastic or artistic endeavors, but also of all aspects of living. Call it lifestyle enhancement.
When we came together as partners to found Bed Supperclub, we wanted to provide a forum
where people could meet, exchange ideas and feed off each other creatively in an
atmosphere of style and innovation.

the premises
First off, we wanted a building that would embody the philosophy of Bed Supperclub – a
modern, stylish, slightly subversive structure. The futuristic-looking elliptical tubular
construction that has since taken shape on Sukhumvit Soi 11 is one of the most innovative
and best-looking buildings in the city and was a talking point months before opening. The
interior was designed to act as a three-dimensional canvas for each night’s events. In 2003,
the building was named by Condé Nast Traveler as “one of the next seven architectural
wonders of the world.”

The building is 800 square meters with the restaurant taking up 60 percent of the space, the
remainder being a separate bar area. The dining area seats or rather lounges, 120 guests.
The bar has space for 250 guests.

1
a restaurant like no other
Conventional tables and chairs may have their place – but not at our restaurant. At Bed, with
large mattresses and oversized pillows, we invite our guests to open their minds and sharpen
their senses. Why? We want to encourage them to interact among themselves in a thought-
stimulating environment. It’s a contemporary attitude with a sophisticated sense of modernity
and freedom.

We serve generous and audacious cuisine. Characterized by a multi-influenced western

hominess tuned to the Asian palates, comfortable and exotic, distinctively delightful, in a high
quality and above all, surprising environment.

Sunday through Thursday three-course meals are served. Guests are able to watch the food
being prepared in the open kitchen, which serves as part of the show. DJs line-up at the
decks installed on the floor/stage, soundscaping the evening with contemporary, sexy
electronic music. The beat goes up and up as the midnight hour approaches. Our staff,
friendly and focused, are there to ensure that our guest’s experience is not spoiled by any
inappropriate events.

and at weekends?
On Fridays and Saturdays something special takes place: we play host to the superlative
dining and entertainment experience. Our aim is not just to feed or entertain our guests, but
also to engage them in as many ways as possible. Diners are requested to arrive by 20:30
sharp – There is only one sitting for a special surprise four-course menu that will be served up
along with a scripted series of performances. Perhaps it will be a singing act or a
choreographed modern dance act. Maybe it will be something else, street performance, a
fashion show or just a conceptual art thing. The fact that dinner starts at a precise moment
adds to the theatrical dimension of the evening. We conceive our acts like courses. In other
words, we stage the soup, the salad, the main course and the dessert.

Our award-winning Master Chef Dan Ivarie operates the Bed Supperclub kitchen and designs
the menus. We are confident that you will experience some of the most innovative, best
quality cuisine available anywhere in the world along with cutting-edge entertainment.

themes and uniforms at bed supperclub

We plan a new theme every three weeks. What gives us a distinctive edge on other Bangkok
venues is the contribution of a full-time team of curators, production designers and stylists.
We approach the production of our acts with the methodology of events organizers.

\\\ past themes

Amazing Thailand | Late Night At The Office | Poolside Afternoon At The Flamingo Club |
Healing And Redemption Through Love And Art | My Pimp Is Rich | Kama Sutra | In The
Lobby Of A Parisian Palace | The Boss, His Wife, His Mistress And Her Boyfriend | Shanghai
Cabaret | Ephemeral White Symphony | Black Gypsy | The Life Of Marlon Brando |. Etc.

\\\ uniforms

We have designed some 40 uniforms for the restaurant since Sept 2002. The bar side has
approximately 20 original uniforms also. All the uniforms are original designs from our stylists
to fit the theme that we create. They are an important feature of our concept since they are
the expression of our need to constantly renew ourselves and give a fashionable and stylish
dimension to our identity.

2
raising the bar on bars
The bar is separate from the restaurant. It features a mezzanine overlooking the dance floor.
It has been designed to experience dance music in the most thrilling conditions. The interior
design, DJs, staff and a state-of-the-art integrated sound, lighting and projection system make
Bed Supperclub arguably the most sophisticated nightspot in the city. Our bartenders
regularly succeed at competitions organized by liquor brands to identify regional talented and
creative mixologists. A VJ operates from within the crowd on the upper floor and projects
hypnotic visuals on the huge oval window above the DJ located downstairs. Ironically the 1am
closing time rule has pushed us to offer more exciting events each night. Up to date Bed has
already lined-up a significant list of critically acclaimed international DJs, namely: Miguel
Migs, Kenny Dope, Gilles Peterson, DJ Gregory, The Amalgamation of Soundz, Lenny
Fontana, Martin Solveig, DJ Disciple, Blaze, Ian Carrey, Robert Owens, Lisa Loud,
Stephane Pompougnac, Audiowhores, Charles Schillings, Copyright, Zero dB,
ALexKid, …etc, leading the growth of the Bangkok club scene. In addition, going beyond just
delivering funky house and electro house music DJs, we brought in some of the most sought-
after hip-hop, funk and R’N’B turntablists. Our legendary weekly Tuesday hip-hop nights has
inspired a new breed of entertainment venues in town. Our resident hip-hop DJ is still shaping
the taste of his peers ever since our hip-hop night was launched en of 2002.
Wednesdays are Models Night. Hosted by a group of models turned pr, Models Night caters
to the most beautiful people in town, making Bed the sexiest spot in Bangkok on Wednesday
nights.

a thing for art

Bed regularly organizes art events. We believe innovative cuisine, electronic music, fashion
and contemporary art make a perfect match. Therefore we try as much as we can to
introduce to our guests the work of local and international artists. Preferably site-specific
productions, whether it’s a painting exhibition or a new media installation, our exhibitions last
4 to 6 weeks or just the time of an evening. Is it new? Is it provocative? Is it beautifully
designed? If it’s altogether, we should show it.

in a nutshell
Bed Supperclub showcases the best of contemporary culture. Each night has a different story
to tell to each of the five senses. Each week offers a different way to spend an evening.
Through constant renewal, constant innovation, we try to engage our guests by an invitation
to relax, wonder and enjoy good food amongst good company. Chefs and mixologists, stylists
and performers have finally put their act together.

shooting at bed – a few rules

• We do not recommend shooting at Bed during daytime, as it doesn’t reflect the real
ambiance of our venue.
• We prefer if you use long shots (wide angle) for still shots of the interior during
operation hours.
• Close-up of guests is not permitted.
• For food and drinks shots, we recommend daylight otherwise you should have proper
lighting (a soft box for instance). Arrangements can be made, please call 2 days prior
to shooting day.
• For video crews, extra lighting is not permitted, unless mounted on the camera. As
with still shots, long shots only are permitted. Mid shots and close-ups are not
allowed.

what the world says about bed supperclub
Visit our online press section at www.bedsupperclub.com/press.php
_____________

Bed Supperclub has become an icon for its shock-white interiors, Tuesday night parties, and
tubular freestanding shape. But it is the restaurant that sets it apart. Full-time stylists and
curators alter staff outfits, mount art installations, and change music by the day. Chef Dan
Ivarie's menu includes dishes such as silken-textured snow fish with local beetroot risotto and
carrot-passion fruit sauce. He cooks with heady Thai flavors, a come-as-you-are vibe that
reveals his American roots and global flair - Boston Globe.
______________

Bed Supperclub is just weird. Going inside is like stepping into a Robert Palmer video. The
staffs, all female, apparently change costume every night. Everything is blindingly white, from
the bar, to the walls, to the skeletal staircase that climbs, wraithlike, to the twin balconies
above. Most strikingly, you sit and eat in (or rather, on) the pristine white beds that line the
sides of the toad's interior. It is strange and dreamy and very possibly the coolest place I've
ever eaten venison in. The service is a little slow, but I'm almost too blissed out to mind. –
Evening Standard (London).

_____________

Not many restaurants greet you with: "Take off your shoes and get into bed." But the Bed
Supperclub in Bangkok is no ordinary eatery. From the outside it's a cross between a high-
tech sausage roll and an alien spacecraft. Inside, the all-white, futuristic decor merges
Stanley Kubrick with an exotic Hugh Hefner fantasy. Beautiful Thai women in split-to-the-
waist white tunics and hot pants wait on guests lounging on long beds with snowy pillows -
"the ultimate horizontal dining entertainment experience". At the bar waitresses parade a blue
mini-skirt airline hostess theme. Oh, and the food is quite good, too. - New Zealand Herald.
_____________

... save some for Bed Supperclub, favored haunt of actress-model-wannabes. This place is
the last word in hip chic, an emporium of see-me-now hauteur where gorgeous people recline
like pashas on vast white sofas (pictured above), nibble on artfully prepared eats and watch
weird art installations to a soundtrack of nicely chilled house. You can't miss it from the
outside - there's only one building in the street that resembles a squashed tin can held up by
toothpicks (above, right). And best of all, you can brag about the supermodels who were in
Bed with you last night. - South China Morning Post.
_____________

At the end of Sukhumvit Soi 11, for example, you will run into what looks like a gleaming
white U.F.O. on stilts. Walk up its boarding ramp, though, and - assuming the doorman lets
you in - you'll discover the Bed Supperclub, whose well-dressed, well-heeled patrons recline
on white mattresses and munch on Asian-Mediterranean cuisine while an international cast of
DJs spin house music in the adjacent bar. It is the standard of hipness in Bangkok… Bed's
opening three years ago is widely seen as the beginning of the current epidemic of Thai
innovation. Whether Bed was its germ or simply the first symptom is up for debate, but the
restaurant is now finding itself at the forefront of another trend: Bangkok as the place to
establish yourself internationally. – New York Times.
