The objective of the Senior Kids Camp may be attained or achieved through HEART

H Honor Activities such as individual or group prayer, worship and singing of praises are all conducted to emphasize the purpose of honoring God E Empower The kids are empowered through the talks, various KFL
activities, and create a realization during their discussion groups

R Relate The camp will be the best opportunity to meet new friends. T Testify Kids become witnesses, as they share their personal experiences and new discoveries
from the camp. Also relating what they learned when they got back in their households.

Attitude of a Team Leader

The team leader must strive to be a person of vision. He/She should see to it that the Kids camp is just the beginning of a long process of growth in their relationship with God. The team leader must be flexible. He/ She should be open to make changes / modifications in any activity if the children dont seem receptive to it. The team leader should strive for clarity. a. He should allow others to see what he sees. He has to make sure that the team members have the same understanding as he does about circumstances of the camp. b. He has to find ways to make the participants relate to the talks and sharing. These are done through jokes, anecdotes, and examples in current movie/T.V./music trends and illustrate these terms familiar to the participants. The team leader should strive to have a heart for God and His people. a. He must prepare spiritually before the camp and continue to ask for guidance from the Lord throughout the camp. b. He has to learn how to mingle and relate with the team and the participants. c. He has to show genuine love and concern for the people he serves.

Practical Tips for the Entire Service Team

1. Be prayerful. It is very important for the whole team to pray and ask for Gods blessings before, during and after the camp as it is only through Gods grace that successful mentoring and nurturing of young souls can be attained. It is best to ask for the intercession of Mother Mary. Be humble. Try to answer all the questions of the children. However, dont be afraid to admit if you dont know the answer. Research about it and promise the child that the question will be answered later.

2.

CFC Kids for Family and Life 9 Senior Kids Camp Manual
3. Be encouraging. Always focus on what the kids can do instead of what they cant do. Be generous in praising them for every little good thing they do. This will give them the courage to try harder and feel good about themselves. Dont compare the kids. Children are all special. Bring out the uniqueness of each child by paying special attention to them when they participate and by encouraging those shy ones to speak or to play with the others. Enjoy serving the children. Kids can easily detect negative emotions. Your enjoyment in working together at learning new activities and games will build healthy emotion, and can nourish the childs self-esteem. Always keep a smile on your face. It is an honor and a privilege to be serving those closest to gods heart. Be prudent with words and actions. The kids look up to you as role models. Children are very observant. They learn things not just with what they witness or hear from you.

The moment we came to our existence our parents introduced to us a being like no other, the very reason why we live and continuously breathe today. All things come from Him and all was made out of Love. He gives us life and so we look up to Him He is God. Lets know Him more: God is our Creator from the beginning, the bible narrated through the book of Genesis how God created the heavens and earth, day and night, land and seas, the all kind creatures in earth, seas and air and of course, man and woman according to His image. God is good (Genesis 1:31) He didnt stop until He sees that everything is in perfect order before resting. He created everything in accordance to the existence of things, there is system based on their every need. He puts purpose on everything because He loves them. God is a loving God thats why He made us special (Genesis 1:27) God created man in His image.

I. Who is God?

II. God created me because He loves me.

God loves each and every one of us. He created all of us. Without Him, we would not be here. He gives us beautiful things and all the things we need. The trees, the sky, our pets, our friends, our parents, the air we breathe and the water we use. He gave us LIFE. Yes, the most beautiful gift he gave us is our LIFE! He also gave others life so that we may enjoy the things He made for us. He gave us our parents, our brothers, and sisters. He gave us every one that we love. God did not just give every one that we love; He also gave His most precious son, Jesus, to show us how much He loves us and to save us. (John 3:16)

III. God wants me to be happy because Im special.

For I know what my plans for you are, plans to save you and not to harm you, Plans to give you a future and give you hope. (Jer. 29:11) God loves us and wants us to be happy. Our parents are there to take care of us. Our brothers and sisters are there to help us. Our friends are there to play with us. God gave us gifts and talents unique to us. God also assures us that we will have a good future ahead of us.

Conclusion:

God loves us, we are His creation, we are special, and therefore we should be happy!

Session Activity

God Knows
(Tell them to close their eyes and listen carefully to the poem youre about to read. Invite them to be in prayerful mode) When you are tired and discouraged from a bad day, God knows how hard you have tried. When you're so sad and cried, God has counted your tears. When you're waiting for the bus, but you dont want to go to school, God is waiting with you. When you are lonely and your friends are too busy to play, God is by your side. When you think you've tried everything and don't know where to turn, God has a solution. When nothing makes sense and you are confused, God has the answer. If suddenly your outlook is brighter, God has whispered to you. When things are going well and you have much to be thankful for, God has blessed you. When something wonderful happens and you are filled with happiness, God has smiled upon you. When you have a dream to follow, God has opened your eyes and called you by name. Remember that wherever you are or whatever you are facing, God Knows!!

(Pause for a while and start this short prayer. Tell them to repeat after you)

CFC Kids for Family and Life 13 Senior Kids Camp Manual

II. Following Jesus Examples

Jesus established the best expression to love God by making God His first ideal and following His will despite trials and crosses. He creates a personal relationship with God, He speaks and listens to Him, and He never stops believing in His Fathers plan.

A. J es us Tau g ht U s To L ove G od:

Jesus gave us two commandments. You will love the Lord God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all of your mind and You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:37-39

B . J es us Tau g ht U s To K eep Pra yi ng:

Jesus Told Us This Parable About Praying
A man was in bed sleeping. It was late at night. It was midnight. He hears a knock at the door. He looks outside to see his friend standing there. His friend says to him, "Please lend me 3 loaves of bread. I have a friend that just arrived at my house and I have nothing for him to eat." Do not bother me," answered the man. "The doors are locked and we are all sleeping." He gets back in bed. Then he hears another knock on the door. His friend says again, "Please lend me 3 loaves of bread." "Go away," the man says. "The doors are locked." He goes back to bed. There was another knock at the door. "Please lend me 3 loaves of bread," the friend said. The man got up from bed and gave him 3 loaves of bread. Then Jesus tells us, "I tell you that he will give the loaves of bread because of his friends persistence. And so it with prayer - keep on asking, and keep on getting; keep on looking, and keep on finding; knock and the door will be opened. Everyone who asks receives, everyone who looks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."

Matthew 7: 7-8 Luke 11: 5-10

What do you think?

(The speaker can ask the participants the following questions) Have you ever been persistent praying to God? Have you ever asked? Did God answer? Have you knocked?

C. J es us Tau g ht U s To Ob ey:
Jesus Turns Water Into Wine Jesus was a good boy and he never caused his parents one bit of worry. Jesus grew up. Now he was a man. Mary and Jesus were invited to a wedding. After the wedding, there was a big party. In the middle of the party, they ran out of wine. Mary told Jesus what happened. Then she said to the servants, "Do whatever Jesus tells you." Nearby there were 6 great big jugs. Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jugs with water."

14 CFC Kids For Family and Life Senior Kids Camp Manual
The servants did as he said and filled them to the brim. "Now dip some out and take it to the man in charge of the party," Jesus said. Again, the servants did as Jesus asked. When the man tasted what the servants brought him, he was amazed. He said, "You have kept the best wine for last!" This was Jesus' first miracle.

John 2:1-12

Something to ponder:
Jesus knew that it wasnt His time yet to perform a miracle. But his mother asked Him to do something because the groom ran out of wine. Because Jesus was brought up well by His parents, He immediately obeys her mothers request. Mother Mary trusted Jesus because she believes that her son is capable of doing great things.

D . J es us Tau g ht U s To T ru st:
Jesus Walks on the Water After Jesus had fed the 5,000, He told the disciples to get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side. Then he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. By evening, the boat had sailed a great distance from the land. As the disciples sailed toward the other side... The wind began to blow and the sea became rough. The sea became so rough that some of the disciples were becoming seasick! They looked out at the sea and guess what they saw? They saw Jesus walking toward them on the water! When they saw him, they were terrified and cried out in fear, "It's a ghost!" "Don't be afraid, it is I Jesus said. "Lord, if it's you," Peter said, "tell me to come to you on the water." "Come," Jesus answered. So Peter got out of the boat and began walking on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the waves, he was afraid and he began to sink! Help! Save me, Peter cried! Immediately, Jesus reached out and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?" And when they had climbed back into the boat, the sea became calm. Matthew 14:22-33 Mark 6:45-52 John 6:15-21

Something to ponder:
We face many storms in our daily life. If we keep our eyes on Jesus, we can weather the storm!

Conclusion:
God loves us so much that He sent us His Son Jesus. God wants us to love others just like Jesus did when he was here on earth. Let us love God by loving and following his Son Jesus Christ.

Discussion Starter:
Who is Jesus to me? What characteristics of Jesus do I want to imitate? Have I showed God how much I love Him in my own little way?

Prayer
"Lord God,/ help us to love Jesus./ He is good,/ obedient,/ and prayerful./ Help me/ to be like Him./ I want to be good,/ obedient,/ and prayerful./ I want to be His friend./ I want to love others/just like He did./ Help me/ to be like Jesus always/ so I may show you/ how I love you./ Amen.

(Form a group with 5 6 members facilitated by HEART CHAMPS)

(The speaker will end the talk with this short prayer. Tell them to repeat after you.)

SESSION 3: GOD FORGIVES ME AND HIS MERCY IS EVERLASTING

At the end of the session, the kids are expected to: 1. To know the value of Gods love, mercy and forgiveness. 2. Express their love for God by asking forgiveness for the wrong things they have done. 3. Identify the wrong doings; we need to ask for forgiveness. 4. Understand the importance of the sacrament of reconciliation.

KFL Activity 3: Tell me the story!!!

Divide the participants into teams. The print outs/ drawings will be scattered in the session hall. The team needs to complete the different kinds of scenarios of the story (10 scenarios = 1 set) Arrange the scenarios according to the story sequence. The first group to finish needs a representative to narrate the succession of the story. The first team to accomplish the challenge wins.

Mechanics:

The Two Sons

There was a man with two sons. One of the sons said, "Father, give me what is mine now. I want to leave here and I need money." Pretty soon, the man had divided the land and gave the son the money and he left. The father was so upset that the son left. The son soon spent all his money and got a job feeding animals. He didn't make enough money. He didn't have enough food. He was so hungry. He thought that his father's servants had so much food they couldn't eat it all. He decided to go back to his father. He traveled back to his father's house. When he arrived, he said to his father," I am no longer worthy to be your son. I have made a terrible mistake by leaving here. Treat me as one of your servants." His father ran to him and hugged him. He said to his servants, "Go and get the best robe I have. Bring it here and put it on him. We will have a big dinner to celebrate." The other son went to his father and said, "Father, it isn't fair. I have stayed with you and worked hard all these years and you celebrate when my brother comes!" The Father said, "Son, you are always with me. You have everything that I have. It is right to celebrate now because it was as if your brother was lost but now he is found."

16 CFC Kids For Family and Life Senior Kids Camp Manual

Who are the 3 characters in story?

We have 3 characters in the story the youngest son, the older brother and the father.

Youngest Son - as stubborn, rebellious and impulsive. He wants to get what

he wants even he knows that it will break his fathers heart.

Older Brother - is obedient to his father; he is doing things to please his

father but he envied his brother. He questioned his fathers mercy to his brother and became self- righteous.

The Father - who is patiently waiting for his lost son to come back. A father
welcomed back his son with arms wide open. The father who loved his two sons unconditionally.

Jesus wants us to realize some lessons from this parable. The father in the story is our Heavenly Father. God waits patiently, with loving compassion to restore us when we return to him with humble hearts. But sometimes as children of God, we were like the younger son who acts rebelliously and impulsive we would like to get what we want even we know it will break Gods heart or like the older brother who envied his brother so much and like him we on kept comparing ourselves to others. Many of us maybe like this and we have sinned against our God. But here are some examples of our common sins that we need say sorry to God: Answering back our parents Not obeying our parents Lying, cheating, stealing Saying bad words / cursing others Looking at bad pictures Hurting others and bullying Being selfish and stubborn Being too lazy and greedy Vandalism

God is good to us but He gets hurt when we do things that make others sad. We cannot say I love God but we still continue to hurt others. If we say sorry for the wrong things weve done, God will always forgive us.

Why should I be sorry for my sins?

When you disobey Gods commandments you automatically commit sin. When we commit a sin, it is like making a promise to your best friend and then breaks it. It will hurt your best friend and will make you indifferent from each other. Just like it, Sin can separate us from God. Sin will make us less holy and loving. When we sin, we turn away from God, our Father. We prefer evil. Then we feel unhappy because we offend God who loves us so much. Our heart becomes heavy. We feel sad. Then we begin to see that we have been bad. We are ready to accept punishment. We do not want to sin any more, and we will try to be good children. We should be sorry for our sins because it offended God, who loves you so much. But it is never too late for us to be sorry for our sins that we have done against God. We can always correct our mistakes and not sin again. Here are some ways to make up for our sins and be sorry: Being honest and humble to admit our mistakes Praying to God and asking for forgiveness Going to confession and not doing the sin again

Being one with God through Confession:

Confession or the Sacrament of reconciliation keeps us humble and honest. It also gives us grace and grace to make us holier and gives us strength to fight the temptations. It is hard for us to stop sinning, but we must try our best and God is ready to help us. Repentance must come from faith in God. If we are sorry for our sins because we love God, then our sorrow is right. But if we are sorry for our sins because we are afraid of punishment then our sorrow is not right.

CFC Kids for Family and Life 17 Senior Kids Camp Manual
We can tell God directly that we are sorry for our sins. But God wants that we tell our sins to and ask forgiveness from his priest. God is present in the priest. He has given the priest the power to forgive sins. So we go to the priest and confess our sins. The priest forgives us in Jesus name. For a good confession, we need to do three things: 1. BE SORRY for all sins we have done. 2. TELL the priest our sins. 3. DO the penance we are given. When we receive the Sacrament of reconciliation: We are reconciled with God. We are reconciled with the church. We are free from the eternal punishment (if we had committed mortal sins). We receive peace of conscience and the comfort of God. We receive strength to fight the battle against evil.

Conclusion:
God is always merciful Remember the younger son. No matter how big our sins are, God will forgive us because He loves us. Jesus is always here to help us and come before His father. Let us be sorry, repent, and allow Jesus to wash us clean from our sinfulness.

(His name is Jesus!) If He is a superhero, how come we cannot see him like any superheroes on TV? How can we be sure then, that Jesus is with us? Jesus lives in our hearts by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus lives
The Holy Spirit is Gods own Spirit. God sent His Holy Spirit to guide and help us. We cannot see Him. But He is always present. He is with us every day, every hour, every minute and every second. When we pray to Him, He gives us the strength to be good and avoid sin and other bad things. We can also ask help from Him when we are sad and troubled. He listens to us always. He makes us love God even more! Jesus Stories the Acts of the Apostles

Waiting For the Holy Spirit

The apostles waited patiently in the upper room. They prayed continually. After they had been there about 9 days, they suddenly heard a sound like a mighty wind. The sound filled the whole house. Then they could see flames of fire. The flames of fire settled on the heads of everyone there. That was the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit came to everyone present. Suddenly people started speaking languages they didn't know. The Holy Spirit gave them that gift. People were amazed. Everything that Jesus had tried to tell the apostles came clear now. The apostles finally understood. They went out among the people to tell them all about Jesus. They told them of His life, death and resurrection. That first day, Peter baptized about 3,000 people. The apostles did a good job. They told everyone about Jesus. They told of His love and His Truth.

He is now sending His Holy Spirit to guide, strengthen and to help us. Let us be ready to receive Him in our lives. Before we can receive the Holy Spirit, we must first show God that we love Him and the people He gave us. As an expression of our love for God and the people He sent us, we must pray to the Lord and tell Him: We dont want to sin anymore. We love Jesus and want to be with Him always. Dont expect major changes in your childs attitude. 1. They are the same kids. An overnight of taking to them about Jesus will not turn them into saints. 2. When they continue to exhibit the wrong behavior, dont nag them or use this experience against them (i.e. KFL ka pa man din tapos ganyan ka?); instead, encourage them when they do so. 3. Relate his everyday experiences to what was learned today.

Advise parents to nurture what was started

A. It is your job as parents to bring Christ to your child. 1. CFC KFL can only support you in this; it cannot and will not take your place. Ultimately, you are responsible for developing your childs relationship with Christ. 2. You are Christ to your child. He/She will know Jesus by the way you show love for him/her. 3. Emphasize that service in community can only be real if it is real in the family.

But a man whose house is well-managed, with well-mannered and obedient children. If he cannot govern his own house, how can he lead the Assembly of God? (1 Timothy 3:4-5)

24 CFC Kids For Family and Life Senior Kids Camp Manual
B. Some practical tips in nurturing your childs relationship with Jesus 1. Show him/her Gods active role in the everyday events of his/her life. It is important to keep communication lines open with your child, so that he/she can wholeheartedly accept it when you point these things out to him/her. 2. Pray daily with your child (but keep your prayers in level with his/her age) 3. Give a blessing to your child every day before bedtime and before he/she leaves the house (Give a demonstration). 4. Support your childs follow-up and monthly activities in CFC KFL. Encourage your child to participate in the different activities, and talk about them afterwards (how it went, if your child enjoyed them, etc) Encourage your childs friendships with fellow CFC KFL members. Volunteer your time and resources for the different activities.

Brief parents on what will happen in the last session and their role in it.

Worship Workshop
At the end of the workshop, the participants must be able to: 1. know the importance of singing kids praise in every CFC KFL activity; 2. learn how to teach kids praise to the members; 3. demonstrate how this is done; 4. To give praise to God through animated songs of worship.

Why sing songs of praise with actions?

Biblical Source; Ps. 95:1-3, Come let us sing to the Lord, let us make a joyful sound to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him giving thanks, with music and songs of praise. For the Lord is a great God, the great King above all gods. Exhortation: Rationale of actions Classification of CFC KFL songs Junior & Senior

How do we teach these songs to the kids?

1. Let them listen to the song first for them to appreciate it. Sing the whole song first. 2. Then sing it once again but this time show them the actions for them to be more excited to learn the song. 3. Teach the song line by line. If the song is fast, teach a slower version and let them echo the line. Be sensitive in identifying difficult tunes so you can repeat teaching the difficult parts only. once they are familiar with the tune, you can sing it a little faster for them to catch up with the right phrasing of words. 4. After teaching the song, teach the actions. 5. Then explain the meaning of the song through the actions.

Demonstration by Group
1. Assign a CFC KFL song for each group. 2. Assign a volunteer to demonstrate to the participants how the song should be taught to the CFC KFL members. 3. Give each group 10 min. to learn the songs and the actions. 4. Group Presentation

Closing

Exhortation Recapclosing prayer with an action song

Short Program (bonfire session):

Each group will assign at least one participant who can share any talent (i.e. singing, guitar playing, declamation, dancing, etc.) with the group. This is also the best time to meet new friends from other groups. A simple name game can be played (i.e. ask each child to name at least two or three persons from the other groups).

Guide Questions for the Discussions:

What activities do you do together as a family? Is your family important to you? What qualities of your dad or mom do you want to imitate when you grow up?
