Sportiness in a new form Audi is showing the Audi nanuk quattro concept show car at the IAA in Frankfurt am Main. Its crossover concept combines the dynamics of a high-performance sports car with Audi's quattro expertise on the road, on the race track and also off-road. The V10 TDI engine sets benchmarks for power and efficiency.
AudidevelopedtheAudinanukquattroconceptshowcarincollaborationwiththedesignersfromItaldesign Giugiaro.Theresultisasportscarforanystageoflifeandforanysurfaceequallyathomeontherace track,thehighwayorawindingcountryroadasitisoffroadinthesandorinthesnow.Itscrossover conceptcombinesthedynamicsofamidenginesportscarwiththeversatilityofasportyrecreational vehicle.

ThetwoseaterispoweredbyanewlydevelopedV10TDIinstalledlongitudinallyinfrontoftherearaxle.The powerful5.0literdieselengineproducesover400kW(544hp)anddelivers1,000Nm(737.56lbft)oftorque tothecrankshaftfromjust1,500rpm.ItstwinturboregisterchargingunitiscontrolledviatheAudivalvelift system(AVS).Thecommonrailsystemoperatesataninjectionpressureof2,500bar.Abeefedup sevenspeedStroniclocatedbehindtheenginetransfersthetorquetoaspeciallydesignedquattro drivetrain.

TheAudinanukquattroconcepthasacurbweightofaround1,900kilograms(4,188.78lb).Itsprintsfrom0 to100km/h(62.14mph)in3.8seconds,andthetopspeedis305km/h(189.52mph).Theinnovative thermalmanagementwithitsseparatecoolingloopsandthesteplesslyregulatedoilpumpcontributetothe excellentfuelconsumptionofjust7.8litersper100kilometers(30.16USmpg)onaverage.

Doublewishbonesguidetheshowcar's22inchwheels,whichareshodwith235/50seriestiresupfrontand 295/45attherear.Thecarbonfiberceramicbrakediscscanwithstandhightemperaturesandareextremely

abrasionresistant.

Theadaptiveairsuspensionwithelectronicallycontrolleddampersfeaturesthenextgenerationof technologyfromAudi.ThedrivercanmanuallyadjustthegroundclearanceoftheAudinanukquattro conceptinthreestages:normal,30millimeters(1.18in)loweror40millimeters(1.57in)higher.Thesystem alsocontrolsthelevelofthebodyitselfbasedondrivingspeedandthepredictiveroutedatasuppliedbythe navigationsystem.Onthehighway,forexample,thebodyremainsloweredevenwhentheAudinanuk quattroconceptismovingslowly.Itisautomaticallyraisedwhenturningontoagravelroad.

beamsmadepossiblebythenewAudiMatrixLEDtechnology.Whendrivingwiththelowbeams,theshow carappearscleanandopen,buthunkereddownandfocusedwhendrivingwiththehighbeams. TheinterioroftheAudinanukquattroconcepthasbeenreducedtotheessentials.Thearchitecturerevolves aroundtheinstrumentcluster.Acarbonislandaccentuatesthecockpitandprovidesforacleardriverfocus.
