CAREER PROFILE A.
Brief introduction :
Ispat Industries is one of India's leading industrial houses with interest in steel and mining and investments lined up in power and infrastructure. Set up in 1984 as a downstream processing facility for flat steel ,Ispat has grown in blistering pace and today ranks amongst India's top five private sector integrated steel producers in terms of volume and revenues.It set up the single largest mega module DRI plant in 1994 and combining two unique steel making process,the CONARC and CSP to produce a wide variety of quality flat steel products in its Dolvi complex . I joined Ispat in 1995 while the project work for their Blast Furnace unit had just begun .I was one of the team member who had the responsibility of setting up the entire material handling system from Jetty discharge points to Stockyard and further unto final Bunkers at Stock house , Sinter Plant and Lime Calcining Plant .
Led a team of engineers for implementing following cost saving projects : ( 1 ) Coke Drying Project for reduction in Coke moisture percentage through a system comprising of Hot air generator , Vibrating type Fluidised bed dryer and Gas cleaning system .The project was implemented in 5 months time against the normal industry standard of 10-12 months ( 2 ) Also implemented a Beneficiation plant for Iron Ore for reduction in Alumina and Silica percentage in ore . The system comprises of Rotary Drum scrubber, Classifiers , Thickener, Cyclones ,etc ( 3 ) A system modification was implemented to achieve following advantages ( a ) raw material received from Jetty could be directly fed to Blast furnace reducing multiple handling ; ( b ) Screen underflow from our DRI plant could be direcly fed to Sinter plant reducing rehandling ( c ) Material received by road could be stacked to a normal height of 9 mtrs through Hydrauliv Truck Tilting Units Presently I am handling a capex project for on-line screening of Ore Fines being fed to Sinter plant which will improve the productivity .

Brief introduction :
TSIL is the first indigenously designed and engineered sponge iron plant in India using an indigenous technology.
Key result areas: PLANT MAINTENANCE ( MECHANICAL ): ( 1986-1995 ) Responsible for Mechanical maintenance of the entire areas of 300 TPD coal based sponge iron plant. Significant contribution have been made in following areas : Identifying the appropriate maintenance system in each area and implementing various program such as Condition based , Preventive Predictive maintenance ) Implementing problem solving techniques like why-why analysis,fish bone diagram Identifying specific area for improvement and carrying out modification Design out maintenance Cost control project Spare part management Training and development programme for technicians
