Students Prior Knowledge: Students have not been introduced to foldables. Students have been studying adaptations. Preparation: Example display books Example foldables Example video of making foldables Card Coloured paper Scissors

LESSON PLAN
Time: Start 5 Minutes 20 Minutes 60 Minutes Lesson Progression Gather the students at their desks and ask for quiet and attention Let the students know that we are going to be working on our Science assessment Explain the assessment to the students Show the students the example display book Brainstorm desert animal ideas with the students Ask the students to think about what animal they would like to research Explain to the students about foldables Demonstrate making a foldable Show the video of making a foldable Ask the students if they know any other foldables Have the students to come up one at a time and collect their card Walk the students through creating the display book Ask if there are any questions about making their display book Have the students to come up one at a time and choose 2 piece of paper and scissors Have the students begin making their foldables Ensure all of the students are filling their display book space with foldables Ask the students for their attention Ask the students to place their foldables inside their display book and then place their display book in the tray Ask all of the students for their attention Ask the students if they have any questions about the assessment Congratulate the students on a great lesson and dismiss them for their next lesson Informal Assessment of Student Outcomes What will you assess? Outline the details of the assessment Create 4 different foldables Create their display book How will you assess? What evidence will you collect? Students will have to show me their display book and the four different foldables they have created. I will check with each student that they understand what the assessment entails.
