STERICOM Double Seal Valves

The new standard in sterile technology

STERICOM
Double Seal Valves . . .
. . . provide safe media separation in sterile process applications: Hermetically safe sealing to the atmosphere Reliable isolation of process pipes by SIP-able cavity chamber Controlled steam inlet and outlet by SIP shut-off valves directly installed at the cavity chamber

Control module system VARIVENT / T.VIS, also available with stainless steel feedback switch holder

Actuator system with lift function, easy to maintain. Lift stroke limited by a metallic stop in the actuator (no adjustment required). Core element of the STERICOM Double Seal Valve is the one-piece metal bellows with double radial sealing. It stands out with its high pressure and temperature resistance. The integrated valve stem protects the metal bellows against lateral flow.

Connections provided for: Bellows monitoring Bellows rinsing Leakage indication and drainage

Sturdy, one-piece valve housing

SIP shut-off valves with stainless steel feedback switch holder, also available with ECOVENT control module. Temperature monitoring of the cavity chamber by contact sensor Pt-100 (Option).

STERICOM Double Seal Valves are equipped a with one-piece valve disk (metal bellows) and double radial valve seats. This innovative valve seat configuration allows for valve actuation using a singleacting, pneumatic actuator with One-SpringTechnology. The advantages of this new technology are simple: High operational and maintenance safety due double radial valve seats. When removing the valve's upper part there is no spring tension released. Availability of the full spring force at the valve seats during the valve's rest position as well as during the cleaning phase when lifting. Enhanced safety against unintentional lifting of the upper valve seat during the lifting operation due to full spring force. No bellows inside the cavity chamber, bellows provided for the upper process pipe only. Resistance to water hammers in the cavity chamber due to one-piece valve disk and pressure compensating surfaces. Small cavity chamber volume, cavity chamber is easy to clean due to smooth surfaces. Metallic throttling gap at the valve seats ensures that during the lifting phases the inlet cross section into the cavity chamber is smaller than the outlet cross section at the rinsing valve - thus preventing pressure buildup in the cavity chamber.

Multifunctional, innovative actuator system 1 Actuation of the main stroke (valve open ) 2 Lifting the lower valve seat (cleaning) 3 Lifting the upper valve seat (cleaning) 4 Additional pressurisation of the actuator increases the sealing force at the lower valve seat against water hammers up to 25 bar.

Quality factor Surfaces In sterile process applications high quality surfaces are the main requirement for a safe and reliable process. STERICOM Double Seal Valves are produced with an inside roughness of Ra < 0.8 m in the product wetted area, the outside surface is polished. High quality surfaces are available on demand. STERICOM Double Seal Valves can also be used in clean-room conditions. Reproducible manufacturing quality another quality factor STERICOM Double Seal Valves are subjected to the highest quality criteria in the production and fulfil the validation conditions of plants and process systems. Tuchenhagen takes as a basis the certified quality safety system according to DIN ISO 9001. Permanent quality examinations in the manufacturing as well as the certifi-

cation of all products are the proof for the high quality level and guarantee a fast and safe traceability of spare parts demands. Hygienic exterior design STERICOM Double Seal Valves are of a hygienic exterior design. The design of the closed lantern and the liquid draining surfaces without cavities or gaps ensure a constant, hygienic valve exterior. Simple handling for service and maintenance During the development special attention was paid to easy and quick service and maintenance work on site. Standard tools will be required only when changing the bellows, dismantling the valve actuator or in case of modification of the SIP shut-off actuators for a reverse function.
