Date- 27/07/2013. PLCC Module Identification for 220kV substation at Dhajay, Tsirang. 1.

RF Hybrid- Maintains the PLCC impedance to 75 ohms as specified for P3LA. 2. DC power supply- B5LA & B4LA indicates the DC supply in -ve range since all the FOX, PLCC and other telecom utilities use -ve DC supply. 3. DC power level is depicted by N3NL module. 4. Tx filter E5LA mainly filters the transmission line signal. 5. Carrier frequency generation as specified for each PLCC panel is maintained by P4LG module. 6. Signals to be transmitted from the PLCC panel is done with frequency modulation where the signals are modulated and then transmitted---P4LFmodule. 7. Demodulation and filtering of receiving signals are done by P4LD module. 8. P4LA module- Generation of pilot signals fo 3.75 khz plus assigned frequency of particular panel. Supervision of PLCC signals and the line system. 9. G4AA, G4AC, G4AC module- tele-protection of the substation system through transmission and receiving of carrier signals via distance relay. 10. G4AE (FSK) module- Is a modem used to convert the digital signals to analogue signals between SCADA to PLCC, relay to PLCC and vice versa. 11. O4LC- The speech module to communicate through speech to remote end. 12. P4LB/ P4LC (AF/ IF)- These are all the modulation module card for the PLCC signals to be transmitted to the other remote end substation. The signal modulation works in serially from P4LB to P4LC to P4LF and then the modulated signals are amplified to 40 watt with the help of power amplifier and then the signals goes to RF Hybrid to attain the carrier signal impedance of 75 ohms. From there the signals transmitted through the co-axial cable to remote end for necessary protection purpose. PLCC panel 1 & 2- For tele-protection. PLCC panel 3- Speech purpose. Panel 1- Main-1 distance protection. Panel 2- Main-2 distance protection. Both the panel 1 & 2 have individual channel 1 & 2 respectively.

Digital signals cannot be transmitted more than 10mtrs where as analogue signals can be transmitted as far as 300m. For the above limitation modem is being used to solve the above issue. Distance relay sense the DT carrier signals due to some fault in the line, then the signal is further transmitted to PLCC module gives DT send command and then from PLCC the signal is send back to distance relay with DT receive. The distance relay sense the fault and it gives the command to 86 relay to trip the line breaker. RF terminals inside CVT should be left always open owing to the fact that the carrier signals being transmitted will all be grounded and the level of signal will show very low towards negative zero decibel level. Fiber Optic FOX panel. EPAX Card- It is used for intercom telecommunication and to link with the remote substation. The card is linked through separate EPAX panel. Remote Subscriber- If EPAX system installed in the particular substation is found not working then the slots is maintained from the remote EPAX system through remote subscriber card for necessary intercom telecommunication system. Master card- It is linked with the laptop to make necessary software configuration, extraction of data and able to view the remote end data. OPGW core slots- It is the slot where the OPGW core is extended from SDH and fitted into slots for communication and protection purpose. Each slots is able to fit two OPGW core where one is Transmission of signal and the other one is for Receiving of signals. The other two OPGW core are just a extra or redundant core which is used as a backup in case the other two core is found damaged. The link is made by patch cord from SDH to Core slot inside FOX 515. The total of four core is engaged for the purpose. For Jigmeling four core and for Rurichhu four core are being used.
