IIM Rohtak Summer Placement Report 2013

Indian Institute of Management Rohtak successfully concluded its summer internship placements for this year with 53 recruiters participating in the process for the PGP batch of 2012-14. The institute was able to leverage the advantage of being the only IIM in National Capital Region. Being in the fourth year of its operation, IIM Rohtak reinforced its relationship with the past recruiters and forged relationships with many new recruiters at the same time. The institutes strong focus on producing socially responsible leaders was the major attraction for recruiters. The highest stipend offered on campus was INR 1 lakh. The enthusiastic participation of the industry led to the placement of the batch of 125 students across multiple domains. The average work experience of 36 months gave the students a chance at niche and unique profiles across the domains of Finance, Marketing, Operations, Consulting, General Management and HR. Becton Dickinson, Dabur, 3M, DraftFCB ULKA, Motorola, MTS, Alstom, SBI Caps, Berger Paints, Jindal Steel and Power Ltd., Anchor, Future Brands, Majestic Auto, Tata Power, Tata Motors etc. were some of the major recruiters.

Domain wise analysis

Marketing: Breaking all the myths, 27% of the batch with an average work experience of 36 months
was placed in the Marketing domain. The recruiters offered profiles spanning across marketing research, services marketing, brand strategy, sales, rural marketing, B2B marketing, advertising etc.

Prominent recruiters: Dabur, Tata Motors, 3M, Becton Dickinson, MTS, Berger Paints, Future
Brands, Anchor, McCann Erickson, DraftFCB ULKA, Ashiana Housing, CTI Shipbrokers India Pvt Ltd., Alstom, Jindal Steel & Power Water Health India, LPS etc.

Finance: Notwithstanding the relatively grim economic scenario, IIM Rohtak attracted quite a few
major companies in this domain. With several new recruiters such as Mahindra & Mahindra finance, NCDEX and i-Ventures Capital, 26% of the batch was placed in vivid and challenging profiles in Finance such as econometric modelling, investment banking, corporate finance, trading, retail banking, project finance, equity research, risk management, treasury.

Technologies, Motorola.

General management: The summer placement this year at IIM Rohtak witnessed a surge of
aspirants for general management roles. Few of the new recruiters offered internship projects related to business expansion.

Prominent recruiters: Majestic Auto (Hero Group), Tata Power etc. IT/Operations/Strategy: Operations profiles were offered by various corporates across the
industry. Strategy profiles offered were related to finance and operations domains, while few offers were made in IT consulting domain as well.

Somany Tiles, Aerosoft, Titan, I-Max Technologies, Indofil chemicals, CINT, Invoscape etc.
