Organochlorines: Any of a large group of pesticides and other synthetic organic compounds with chlorinated aromatic molecules. Carotene: An orange or red plant pigment found in carrots and many other plant structures. It is a terpenoid hydrocarbon with several isomers, of which one is important in the diet as a precursor of vitamin A. Phtalates: Are esters of phthalic acid and are mainly used as plasticizers (substances added to plastics to increase their exibility, transparency, durability, and longevity). They are used primarily to soften polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
