This article contain 6 main myths of health:
Drink eight glasses of water per day. Antioxidant pills help you live longer. Being a bit overweight means you will die sooner. Sugar makes children's hyperactive. Our bodies can and should be detoxed. We should live and eat like cavemen.

Myths
Drink eight glasses of water per day:
No one really knows where that myth come from but they know that it is from decades ago.

Antioxidant pills help you live longer:


Around 1990s they start making researches with antioxidant pills and supplements like beta carotene, vitamin E and Vitamin C. They came to the fact that Antioxidant pills dont do nothing.

Being a bit overweight means you will die sooner:


Having serious obesity issues can lead you to death because of diabetes, cancer and/or hearth attacks but research had shown that if your are a little bit overweight you can prevent your body from illness or infections.

Myths
Sugar makes children's hyperactive:
Scientist had prove with researches and with cases that when kids taste sugar they dont get hyperactive but parents get freak out and think that they would get hyperactive.

Our bodies can and should be detoxed:


The reality is that we leave in a environment that is full with toxic things. Many people do diets to be detoxed but the reality is that you need 6 to 10 years of no exposure to get rid of only half on the bad things we have inside.

We should live and eat like cavemen:


There are many reason why this is just a myth including this ones 1) ancestors were not 100% adapted to their lifestyles.2)Many people need some foods to their own need for example some people need grains for digesting. 3)Scientist are not 100% sure what the ancestors ate.

Connection with Chemistry


All of this myths are about food and it is related to chemistry because of the chemical compounds found in all of our foods. Everything we eat is made up of Oxygen, Nitrogen, Hydrogen, or Carbon. Depending on how this elements are organized in different foods it would affect how certain foods are digested and metabolized.

When you mix food, heat it, freeze it and/ or store it the atoms of the food changes. When food is heated or frozen, the atoms in it speed up. This can cause a change in how the atoms congure themselves or combine with others.
