1) List of required Hardware and Software

In order to unlock BB5 phones, you will have to prepare a BB5 V2.01 software. You will find help on how to do this in chapter 2. You will also need some hardware to be able to connect you phone to your PC. The interface has to be either a UFS Box or a JAF Box.

2) Installation
This chapter is a manual on how to install the JAF Driver and BB5 V2.01 software. 2.1) Please make sure, that the respective box interface has been installed correctly with the latest drivers. For further information please read the box's manual. 2.2) Download and Unpack the following files

2.3) Please follow the directions below in the correct order to be able to install your box correctly! 2.3.1) You will have to install the PKey driver FIRST. The PKEY is a small USB device with an integrated card. This card represents a valid licence for the JAF software. Since we're using a cracked software version in this case, you won't have to buy this device. The PKey-driver.rar file contains the installer. Double-click it!

Hit Next and the driver will be succesfully installed only seconds later!

2.3.2) BB5 unlocker Software Installation Run the JAF_Nokia_BB5_and_BB5Plus_201_FREE_by_Zulea from its folder or copy it on to your desktop. ( If you have a P_KEY, please disconnect to your computer !!!)

 3) Running the Software

You don't need a PKEY - the following application has to be executed:

This window will immediately appear: You should now have connect the jaf to your PC and the software detect the JAF box. Connect the RJ45 cable to your phone. There are 2 unlock option. 1) BB5 Old (SL1) 2) BB5Plus (SL2 )

4) How to unlock BB5 phones

a) Go to the Device tab. First, search for all boxes available by clicking Search Device. Select the device to which you have connected your phone to.

b) Hit the Chk Connection button to verify your setup. In case everything is ok, the flashchips's ID will be displayed.

c) Change to the Phones tab. Change Select phone model to "Automatic". You will now be able to get all of the phone's information by clicking Phone Info.

d) It is strongly recommended to create a backup of the PM 308 sector before starting the unlocking procedure. In case you want to lock the phone again or in case something goes wrong while unlocking, you will always be on the safe side. Hit the Make Backup button in order to create such a backup. After selecting a directory to save it in, it will be created only moments later!

e) Now hit the Unlock button. The unlocking procedure will now be executed. Everything will run fully automatic and may take up to three minutes. A message will be displayed after the procedure was succesful.

 6) In case of Errors and Problems

In case the unlocking procedure wasn't succesful, proceed as follows: a) Restore Backup The backup you created in chapter 4d) now has to be restored by clicking Restore Backup. Please select the file your phone's IMEI!

Repair SL zone

In case this doesn't work, you can also repair the whole SIMLOCK-Zone. Click Repair SK zone to do this and wait until the operation has finished!

Tips 1) After connect the cable to the phone, the phone should turn on in LOCAL Mode or blank screen. If the phone dont turn on, keep your finger on the power switch while the phone try to dectect the phone. 2) Some SL_2 phone will need to use the Make unlocked PM function.
