CHATpdx Sexpert noun: A person trained as a peer sexuality educator to engage in culturally relevant, interactive, and developmentally appropriate conversations about healthier sexuality, HIV and AIDS, gender identity, media messaging, body image, sexual decision making, youth-adult communication and sexually transmitted infections.
Its important to understand how stigmas hold people back from getting helped if they have been exposed to STIs, or some think they cant have sex anymore, which isnt the case Knowing your options, and what precautions one can take is important. I learned this, and more. Spring 2013 Graduate

CHATpdx Peer Educator Sexpert Volunteer Position Description CHATpdx Purpose of Program
Cascade AIDS Projects Youth HIV Education program, CHATpdx, is a nationally recognized program that provides opportunities for communities of young people 13-24 years to engage in conversations around healthier sexuality with peers and their communities. This is largely completed through peer education, social media, and HIV testing events. CHATpdx encourages conversations around healthier relationships through the use of culturallyrelevant, interactive and developmentally appropriate workshops including: HIV 101, HIV 201, gender identity, media messaging, body image, sexual decision making, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and LGBTQ Identities.
Incentives
Sexperts are volunteers of Cascade AIDS Project, and receive a monthly incentive of $30/month and support with public transportation equivalent to a monthly bus pass. School credit and/or service hours may be available please speak with the CHATpdx Coordinator to arrange this.

1: Why do you want to be a Sexpert with CHATpdx? Please describe any communities youre a part of, want to be a part of, or could help engage in the work of CHATpdx.
2: Please share some of the sexual health issues that are important to you or other young people you know, and why.
3: Sexperts commit to a minimum of 20 hours a month, which includes 10 hours of education, and a minimum of 10 hours of peer to peer education, outreach, and community education (as applicable). Describe the school or community activities you are currently or will be involved in during the term(s) of the Sexpert program, and how you will be able to balance your schedule in order to remain committed to Sexpert activities.

As a Sexpert, I learned how to correct misinformation. I have young relatives and kids myself, and later I will have these conversations with them and I dont want to misguide them by giving false statements about sexual health. Spring 2013 Graduate
